I've always thought African armies are the most undisciplined in the world, but Putin's army of conscripts takes some beating.

Just imagine the UK calling up conscripts and putting me on the frontline, with a rifle and a few cans of beer.

Back on topic, I have just watched a video on you tube, an interviewer is stopping Russian citizens in the street and asking them if they have seen what has happened in Bucha.
One Russian woman said "its fake, its totally fake, all the bodies are laying in unnatural positions, they wouldn't normally lay like that"

Slovakia's sending Ukraine its sole Soviet-built S-300 anti-aircraft battery. The US is replacing it with a Patriot missile system.

Don't know why Zelensky's singling out BJ for special treatment, given what the Pols have done and the obstacles we've put in place for Ukrainian refugees. He was probably partying in Kyiv before he left.

Probably because British Forces were helping to train Ukraine soldiers on how to use different weapon systems prior to the Russian invasion and been training them via Poland on how to use the newly sent StarStreak II.

There is also some chatter on the British Forces forums that Zelensky person protection unit is from Hereford. They not classed as regular soldiers so not much for Putin to moan about. No idea if that’s true.

Apparently we have also sent non defensive weapons which everyone else was reluctant to send. Neither the UK or Ukraine are explaining what weapons exactly as again not to upset someone in Russia.

I think the UK defence minister made a mistake when he said we are training Ukraine forces and quickly changed the subject. After all, UK forces are not supposed to be in Ukraine but I imagine they are in some capacity.

Zelensky has been speaking to BoJo almost twice a day since this started according to an article in the Telegraph. Again, no idea if that’s true.

I know UK forces were in Ukraine but I imagined they moved out along with the US before the invasion started. Zelensky must be pretty bored being in hiding, to want to talk to BJ twice a day!

Officially all regular soldiers left before the invasion.

But some are using the term ‘Advisers’ remained there. What that term is actually referring too is anyones guess.

Perhaps BJ knows he is done for and looking for a new role in the Ukraine government one day.

The Swedes are utterly pragmatic about what's good for them. They are likely to choose Nato - go figure Moscow!

And that defines the insanity within the current Russian regime.
Who are Russia to allow or disallow a sovereign state to choose their allies?
Lets face it the one ace card Russia has is nuclear. A nation of 44million has given a nation of 144million a bloody nose. The best Russia can do is launch a relentless bombardment of Mariupol. Wanton destruction is not going to endear you to decent human beings. The irony of a nation that suffered at the hands of Nazi's now pummeling a neighbour in the 21st century is absolutely staggering.

The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has now successfully tested hypersonic missiles travelling at Mach 5 or 3,600 miles per hour. This was completed in March but kept secret as not to antagonise Russia.

This will now be incorporated into the NATO missile defence system. Timeframe by end of 2022.

That means if Russia launches Nuclear hypersonic missiles then NATO stands a much better chance of intercepting them.

Although I have no idea what happens if there is a Nuclear explosion at 35,000 feet.

Hypersonic missiles are offensive, they won't stop incoming missiles. The blast from most nuclear warheads would do widespread damage even at 35,000 feet. If you're gonna use nuclear missiles to stop a missile attack you need to go into space or where the atmosphere is so thin there would be virtually no blast effect. Incidentally, Russia only have hypersonic missiles because the US announced a project to strike anywhere in the world within an hour with the use of hypersonic missiles, but the Russians beat them to the technology.

I think it's time we start a nuclear thread.
