Hi all,
Defo please don't laugh at this one, but we learn form our mistakes!!
I was happily trading when a position went against me in play, on the ladder screen i pressed the red loss amount( next to the scales) to get out but it didn't go into the market, i pressed it again and suddenly i was looking at a huge loss that almost wiped out my bank? not sure what i did as i thought that was a way of getting out, usually in a green... but just started firing money into the market?
Any advice is appreciated so i don't do it again
cheers
Almost got wiped out - not sure what i did wrong
Did you account for Betfair's in-play bet delay between each green up?
Have a read of this post and see if the 'Problems greening up in-play' section matches what you done?

Or if you post a copy of the Bet Angel log and a screenshot of your matched bets that should confirm it that was what happened and if not what it was

As painful and frustrating as it might be it's better it happens now rather than several months down the line when you bank might be much bigger
Have a good Easter too

If you want to keep some money in Betfair ie not be depositing and withdrawing all the time, but give yourself some protection against a mistake then you could move some of it from/to your Main wallet from your Poker wallet. That's fairly common practice when people try new automation or when trying new techniques manually.
Yes good point, I had been on the practice version for the last two weeks and didn’t do it even when taking reds! Must of had trigger fingers today!

And it's always worth remembering that no internet based transactions can ever be 100% guarenteed. So when you place a bet there's always a small chance you won't be able to close out. Forunately those tend to even out over time, but if you've got say a £100 bank then maybe not have more than £25 of it on the table at any given time. The more you trade the more likely you'll see glitches and they're something we all learn to live with. Std risk management really but something that often gets forgotten in the heat of learning everything else too. There's nothing worse than running out of money before you run out of lessons.Fergkamp wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 10:41 pmYep good shout. I hadn’t thought of that!
