Presume you mean Adam Heathcote from here :
http://adamheathcote.blogspot.com/

He moved away from trading, given the huge profits he was making it's hard to understand why although I do firmly believe that with trading there is always a nagging feeling that anything could change at any point and leave you feeling high and dry.

It seems he's reinvested his profits and gone down a more stable income route, if the whole story is true (to be honest I've no reason to disbelieve it) then good luck to him. He's created a new website based on holidays and fitness (bit of a why didnt I think of that idea ??!! :D ), given the current craze of fitness it seems like a decent plan.

I can understand why Adam moved on.
I have to be honest, I'm also looking at investing my money into other areas.

I've started to lose my edge over recent months. I've become disillusioned at paying PC, whilst losing a few hundred quid through a BF outage.
In fact I could reel off a number of reasons why my profits are shrinking and it's time to do something else.

Personally, I think the BF bubble has burst and they are now cannibalising themselves. I've had a great time, but nothing lasts forever I'm afraid

I think rather than negotiate on Betfair is the most pleasant thing of this world ... is the best job in the world ... you're not a slave to none, you learn many things every day ... Do not be afraid .... bisonga perhaps we need to learn about other sports and do not operate on only one .... as regards adam, I can not understand why he dumped you think ... Betfair followed him to take advantage by putting it in trouble? can this happen? that Betfair spy large traders?

I think the 'ultimate' for me would be a profitable income from my own business but also have the time to trade sports whilst not relying on trading for my 100% full time income.
Just to clarify, I don't trade for a living, not yet anyway :D

Many people have gone through the same cycle. If you feel you are starting to lose your edge or new charges are eating into things, it's easy to get nervous and seek to diversify. When I started I thought I would have maybe three years doing it before it would all end, but over time I began to realise that in fact we are an important part of the ecosystem and there was no reason why it shouldn't continue for a long time.

That said, it is probably inevitable that I will scale back my activities. I've always been prudent and invested any spare cash I had. That tends to grow every day, whether I tend to it or not and is scalable. Unfortunately Betfair isn't scalable, which is why you should never give your money to others to 'invest' on exchanges. Therefore as time passes my investing becomes more important and I need to spend more time on it.

I think it's also evident that Betfair are chasing margin and not growth at the moment. Core markets haven't grown for some time and Betfair don't seem to be doing much to drive that growth, so you have to get clever to squeeze more out of the market. If Betfair did drive growth then that would change the equation again back in their favour.

I and other experianed exchange junkies are talking on a different scale though. For newbies there are still plenty of opportunites. There are many more if you are using smaller amounts of money as well. The bigger you get the harder it is to make it work and return a reasonable % on capital.

I understand ... take this opportunity to ask for your intervention because you are an expert, as I can see the volumes Betdaq? Can not be displayed with Betdaq Angel .... am I wrong or can not do this? Thanks for the reply. ...

OK, I think you mean the traded volumes on the ladder? No this is not available on the Betdaq version.

If Adam has stopped trading completely then i think he is absolutely bonkers :? ,
by all means invest in your future and start other businesses ect , trading isn't going to last forever as we know.

but the sort of incomes adam made are not easily come by and in a few years time he may well regret not
continuing it for as long as he could get away with.

it's a case of the grass being greener on the other side with alot of people.
He will certainly have to go some to make similar ammounts from his new businesses ventures thats for sure and he will not have a much free time to enjoy himself either :) .
