Morning All

Had a look around the internet this morning and https://greyhoundstats.co.uk/ along with Timeform appear to supply the best greyhound information data wise. Is there any other recommendations?

Cheers
It might be time to pick your direction. Are you going to trade based what's called fundamentals (eg dog form, speed etc) or just trade what you're seeing in the markets, ie what you'd call technical trading. Personally I have no interest in dogs and haven't got to time to plough through about 600 dogs a day looking for something. I'd also rather develop a strategy that I could apply to every dog in every race and therefore benefit from scale....which afertall is what automation excels at.

My friend uses a name generator and BACKS greyhounds with strong Irish Towns, Waikiki, or the obvious Droopy ;)

If they're backing Droopy's that'll account for about 50% of all dogs. That kennel churn out dogs like sausages, well like greyhounds actually rather than sausage dogs obviously. :)

Please can someone advise me as just starting to look at greyhounds again.

When rating greyhounds what would you consider the most important stats to use time, age, form Etc

Thanks for any advice.

I don't think there is a "best", the "best" is actually you're own rating, as no-one else will be using it. using what everyone else is using doesn't work so well I reckon...

The Racing Post and Timeform sites present the data differently.

The Timeform data given can be used to help produce your own rating. They have a master seed rating already on offer and previous ratings in other races down the right hand column. Also a proxy rating (hcap mark).

Age is important to spot improvers

Winning weight of a greyhound is useful, but only known on the results line. (Racing Post)

The previous ISP is a factor when comparing against the grade(s) it's been running in.

Any of these can be put into %probability form to produce an overall rating, and in turn, a tissue price. I've also noticed the top rated aren't always value. I tend to look for races where the Top 2 rated offer value. (usually when they aren't a favourite)

That's ok.

I took a quick look earlier at some old ratings I put together, worked out fairly well. The BSP would have been fairly big, so even more value on offer.

I'll be going down the market route however I'll still intend to collect some data if only to enhance my excel skills. Maybe 2 or 3 tracks worth. Thanks for your replies and invaluably advice
