I waited 24 hours for the Liverpool match to start thinking it was on yesterday, only to be taken out of the match by the first goal.

Whatever happens past this point its already a remarkable achievement to keep the quad dream alive at this stage of the season

I feared Michael Owen might have jinxed it before the game when he said that Van Dijk was the greatest Centre back of all time!

What a fu*king muppet!

He's been colossal, what's even more impressive is that he's been a late bloomer as well! To become the very best.

If you remember those few games against Saints in quick succession where Liverpool just couldn't break them down, when Jose Fonte was probably partnering van Dijk, I think that's where Klopp realized how good he was and how good he is at organizing his team, not only did they think he was worth that money they thought he was worth waiting for as well.

I suppose Klopp has a long history of signing players that do extremely well against his team, like that fastest Sadio Mane hat-trick against him or that Minamino performance at Salzburg while Haaland was still there etc, more recently with Luis Diaz and hopefully the trend continues with Darwin Nunez :D

Oo yes please :D

IF we do win a quadruple then I think its only fair that we give one of the trophies (carabou cup of course) to Spurs. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have signed Diaz in January.

"Hey Tom, this peanut has told me they're interested in signing Diaz! Quick, take my phone and ring Porto"

Stop it Pat, I can only get so erect :D

Credit to Villarreal who gave it their all, it really has been a textbook game of two halves

Focus now switches to Spurs on Saturday. Surely we've got to start Diaz?

lol, was thinking during the match he has to start over Jota from now on, proved himself beyond doubt, but then you lose the sub effect cuz Jota is not as dynamic

I wouldn't be surprised to see tonight's game being much more cagey than last week

Real Madrid do not need to go full out attack, they have 3 away goals.....1-0 or 2-1 will do the job

To see 1-0 Real trading at 21 is a huge price considering

Do away goals still count double in this tournament? I thought they abolished that this season?

I think so, not entirely sure as not really followed football much this season. Though sure I read something about it, maybe it’s in a different tournament.

None of the UEFA comps use away goals anymore

They changed it because it made home teams defensive out of fear of conceding that away goal, so games have been more open and exciting for the neutrals, but managers wanted it as well for years, it's been a great change
