Hi,

What are the criterias?
Unless I'm missing something obvious, you need to explain your question in more detail?

I spoke to someone a few days ago. He said he was on 0% comm. and i was like...WTH?
Didnt know it had existed. So im wondering what the criterias are.
He says he has had his bf acc. for roughly 15 years but thats all i know.
EDIT: Also there is something else. When he goes to his "rewards" section.
He has 3 options: 0%, 2% and 5% instead of 2%, 5% and 8% (like most of us?)

I think he's the best person to ask. I've checked my rewards page and it's still 2, 5 & 8%.

Member since 2000 here and definately no 0% option and I've never heard of anyone on 0%. But what good is 0% if he's paying PC or PC2, or even if he's losing? When you find out what's going on I hope you'll explain.

It's the 'implied commission' that negates any PC, not the actual commission paid. As far as I know everyone builds 'implied commission' at the same rate (1% of all winning markets + 1.5% of all losing markets), therefore presumably if someone is on a 0% commission promo they are still building up 'implied commission' at the exact same rate as someone on 2%, 5% or 8%.

I've never heard of anybody on 0%, no matter what they do or have done.

Surely you can get commision below 2% if you have 2 or more complementary value strategies on the same markets.

Yep, and it's the reason my stuff selects >1 selection per race. With 2 x 50% SR strategies, 25% of the time both lose, 50% of the time 1 wins and 1 loses (no commish) and 25% of the time both win and you pay full commission...it's especially effective on the Aus rates. But that's not the same as being on a 0% market base rate,

Commission Generated = (Commission Paid + Implied Commission) ÷ 2
where Implied Commission = market losses x 3%

So if you don't pay any it does affect the generated commission.

Thanks. I'm still trying to get my head around PC despite being 4 years into professional trading

So in your example being on 0% commission would still be an advantage even if on PC? eg, in a market where they won £100 gross they would gain £2 from not paying commission, but lose £1 of it from reduced contribution towards weekly PC?

 I just cut and paste from the Ts&Cs and the rest is guessing.

I'm ashamed that something that seems so simple messes with my head so much too. What does it is the % on market gross, simple....but then a further % based on your weekly gross, and some figure based on your wins, and your losses and your std rate, but then Aus rates get your discount applied, but just on the wins, still 1.5% on loses. So that's now a whole bunch of subtotals....which then refers back to the simple %age you already paid to make the total = 20%. So the fee is 20% of 4 apples -3 oranges.

I bet, I close my eyes, money goes out, that's the limit of my 'professional' knowledge on this really so I should stfu :)
