4 days of jubilee celebration, followed by 10 days of BJ gone celebration, won't help the economy much.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 06, 2022 2:22 amVote of no confidence this week by the conservatives in BJ.
Problem with that is the chancellor didn’t want to help the people and BJ made him.
Therefore, with BJ gone it could be even more dark days ahead unless the chancellor goes too.

Equal or greater than 15% of Tory MP’s sent a no confidence letter to the 1922 committee.
BJ needs 180 votes in his favour to be safe.

Correct
Wouldn't really surprise me if some of the letters that went in were from allies just to ensure its triggered now to get it out the way
Personally to stand a better chance of getting rid of him I'd of though waiting till after the by-elections would have been better

Yeah, this all could have been done on purpose, just to get it out of the way once and for all.

Best time for BJ to have the vote before and not after the Tories get slaughtered in Wakefield, am I right in thinking if he wins they can’t push another VONC for at least a year?

"The Conservative Party's rules stated clearly that if a Leader survived a Confidence Vote (as Theresa may had done on 12th December) they could not be challenged again for a year. Nevertheless, such was the growing pressure on the Tory Backbenches for May to go , that on the 24th April , the 1922 Committee Executive held an extended discussion on whether or not to change the rules. In the end, a vote was apparently taken, and a proposition to amend the rules to allow for an early additional Vote of Confidence was narrowly defeated."

I do hope the party is over. This has been a complete embarrassment.
