There is no switching to Betdaq, because of us, betters and traders.

Why

Traders need the betters, to turn over their money and betters need traders to get their bets matched.

So unless someone with some website knowglegde decides to put up a website, with a countdown timer of ex 30 days, and post threads all over the web about it, so that all traders and all betters can switch at once, were all screwed.

But if someone do Im in.

What about YOU !!!!!

Betdaq has been tradable for a while so there is no reason it shouldn't get more popular now more people are going to use it. As big as Betfair, probably not, but an alternative, yes. It has to be worth a try though, doesn't it?

I will be begining my move over to Betdaq as of today. I will still be on Betfair but I can make 40% of what I make on Betfair on Betdaq and be no worse off. The advantage being that I can help grow Betdaq just as people have helped Betfair grow so over the long term I may be helping build a viable option where as the charges on Betfair and the fact they are now going to be actively in the market mean that Betfair as a betting exchange is not a viable option.

When I had to make 80% of what I do at BF over at BD it wasn't worth it but I now only need to make £40 for every £100 I can make at BF and be in the same position.

If more people start doing it the drain will begin and another option will become viable potentially.

Do nothing and the 60% PC will become 70% or higher in time, it has jumped from 20% to 60% so I see it only heading in one direction in the future.

Well said Andy you summed it up nicely, trading in sports is still in its infancy in comparison to the stock markets, ten years is not a great deal of time so the doors are open now to other entrepreneurs and exchanges, so the more we do to help the competition out the better,

Its fair to say that Betfair was prob going to do this all along and maybe even one day Betdaq will do the same, but thats a while off I reckon!

We need to help ourselves before anyone else helps up and start to support the purple exchange and drive not just traders, but casual punters to the site as well!

Agree pt9091, it's still early days for sports trading I've seen plenty of exchanges come and go thru my years since playing on flutter. And all had the same thing in common that it was possible to make money off each if you put the effort in.

Peter's shown it's more than possible to win £2-300 a market over there, in a months time he'll need to win more than twice that on betfair to come away with the same amount. And most of us that have done this for a while know you don't need to hit those averages a race to get a very decent living out of trading.

In those good old days people never imagined we'd have the volumes that betdaq currently trade and suddenly everyones writing them off as no hopers :) Could well turn out to be a tortoise and hare situation in terms of who wins at the end of the day.

With Betfair(an exchange)becoming actively involved in the markets, when does an exchange become a bookmaker?

Missed all the races so far until the last as been busy with other stuff, need to get some funds in place and learn the software again but just played with £50 stake on the 2nd fav on the 15.00 at Haydock for 2mins in the build up.

Turned over £500 and made £3.50, the emphasis being on played, I was far from trading as normal. So shows that something is possible at least. I am going to carry on playing today and get a good nights sleep and see what is possible over the next few days.

Don't forget if the charting is rubbish just have the Bet Angel for Betfair open and use those charts - the markets mirror each other essentially.

A few thoughts......
On Betfair I make most money on football and the football markets are pretty dire but I too will be trying my best on the Daq - I will also do Horse Racing on the Daq but agree the graphs really need updating to Betfair standards.
I think Betdaq should really go for it on the 18th July and have a commission free or 1% day and advertise it in a big way - this could start to tip the balance in their favour. In my eyes Daq will get bigger and bigger and become more tradeable. I have one other comment about Betfair trying to seed their own markets and become more of a bookmaker. I can't see how this can work because WH,Lads,Corals etc run books with overrounds of 110%-115% whereas Betfair would be stuck with 102% or less. People would surely take advantage of this and Betfair would struggle to make it pay/probably lose. One final thing if the top traders leave with all their liquidity this is bound to affect the money matched and Revenues will fall and market observers were somewhat concerned about low revenue growth in yesterdays results.

With regard to Betdaq's graphs which a few people have mentioned,

Personaly i just use Betfair's,

Why not just have both versions of B.A open at the same time and trade Betdaq using the info gleaned from Betfair.
