Was it a fluke or did my prediciton modal get the race times correct based on the results.

One of my races today suggests I'm going in the right direction too. The R.M had graded it where the field had less than a length separating them, so getting a big chance of a clear run, the better. T3 to get first run to the rails, T5 to get first run in the middle and both scoot clear. (only a head between them at the finish).

For a dogs previous races is there anywhere that says if the race was ran in the morning, afternoon, evening and track conditions. I looked on various websites but can't see that level of data being captured for UK races, was thinking of feeding that into my data modaller and see if it adds anything ?

Nowhere I can think of.

The Greyhound stats offers some useful data about the tracks and graded times. You've probably already got that covered.

For the craic, I had a quick look. It's not a race I'd use as T1 has been running in hcps.

T5 & T6 both (W) runners could get in each others way.

T4 with a clear run, should win, but needs some luck.

My reasoning, is it's times have been improving, but from your data it showed it seemed best in T4, but has run T2 recently, so now back in T4 it's going to be a winner

but from your data it showed it seemed best in T4, but has run T2 recently, so now back in T4 it's going to be a winner

I know this is all just for entertainment, but Trap significance needs to be weighted with distance/speed to the first bend at the track the result was achieved. It matters more at some tracks and for some dogs than others. Stats without context, or taken in isolation are what trip people up.

I've recently been focussing more on the conventional route of backing/laying. If I can read how the racing manager sets up the race, some favourites are clear lays, some that aren't favourites are clear backs.

Archery's model could be used that way too.

I've recently been focussing more on the conventional route of backing/laying.

So you need value bets. I was just interested to see how you and Archery were converting your ratings to prices.
