Not sure really,
he got out a whole year before the end of Betfair and thats alot of money to miss out on.
We all knew it wouldn't last forever deep down.

but think if i was in his position i would have miked it untill the very end.

Plenty of time to do other things later.

Here is a question for the thread. If you made a clear million and had that lurking in the your bank account, what would you do?
1. Pay my mortagage.
2. Buy 50% swiss francs.
3. Deposit the remaining in a swiss bank account

I've never been so uncomfortable with the markets as I am now...

For me, Adam does not earn all those numbers ... they were just crap ..... one that earns the figures with scalping, shut up and try not to be recognized .... not open blog, in short, does not need to be advertising ... scalping is different from those who bet bet .... can see its profits, it can open web sites to earn more (if it is always a good punter), but he who does not has to scalping see his work around ... or you're finished! This is my opinion of course ... the scalpers should shut up and work, not to party, otherwise you're a dead man who walks in the wonderful world of Betfair!! 8-)

Loby, whether you believe it or not Adam was real. Its just that a lot of people tried to spread a rumour that he wasn't. They also, incorrectly, tried to say that we were somehow behind the whole thing which was also lie. There have been plenty of successful people out there but very few that show put their heads over the parapet. You only need to look at Adam to see why nobody does that anymore!

Betfair admit that the 70 most successful people on the exchange together earn more than Betfair itself, showing that people can earn very good money on Betfair...

Jeff

PS Betfair's 'earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) rose by 27 per cent to £73.2 million in the year to the end of April', it was announced yesterday - http://business.scotsman.com/economics/ ... 6793350.jp. So there must be people doing even better than Adam...

There won't be any doing it in the future you can be sure of that! Because if they make more than £250,000 by whatever means Betfair will be trying to find out who they really are as if they aren't paying the PC already it means they have figured out a way to avoid it which they will want to stop.

Which means you would be mad to ever post about profits again if you are in anyway successful. So if people have a blog etc my advice is ditch it now and stop posting about how you are getting on with your trading as you are only going to draw the attention of Betfair.

The days of blogs and screen shots showing a success are over thanks to this charge - with it new players will struggle to find successful people willing to help them.

These are just some of the consequences that I don't think has been taken acccunt of. You won't be seeing big wins on Betfair from successful people ever being posted again imo and with that goes the dream for a lot of people.

Well you could post up a nice screen shot, but your net would likely be very different that's for sure! Looking around the blogging community I guess they probably wont put up any Betfair screen shots for a while!

boys is normal that there are people who do much better than adam ... every sport has its big fish ... we know that everything is rigged sports ... tennis, horses, soccer ... the mafia money recycles dirty through sport, so it's normal that people who else is in my opinion is, even millions per year, of course with multiple accounts ...

For euler: Adam was a dream for me, the clean person who is able to make money in a dirty world .... My question is this: Why does not work anymore? All here ..

I don't get why people don't believe Adam? The person who introduced me to trading was his standard. He made £1400 in front of me and a mate within 2 hours.

We were like  and handed our notice in the next day :)

We both thought we had found gold! It looked so easy, 4 years on and I'm making more then when I was working full time and my mate didn't make a penny and gave up after a year.

I suppose if I never had witnessed those sort of profits to start with I would have been skeptical and It's hard to comprehend someone can make £1800 plus in 1 race!

I think that for many people how much he can make threatens their idea of reality - if he's capable of making much more than them then for them to accept that as fact means accepting that they're inferior. Not that anyone is a superior person or not by how much money they can make by trading but if someone has invested a lot of their ego in the notion that they are a trader and they can make money doing something most people can't, and then someone comes along and does a lot better than they can, then it messes with how they see themselves, and its a lot easier for some people to dismiss Adams success as some sort of scam than to accept that maybe there is someone better than them who probably only had the same opportunities that they did but made more of them

Was he willing to reveal how he weaved his magic, out of interest?

Hgodden, good point!

Honestly jeff, I watched him about 3 times, literally stood behind him watching him trade, It looked so easy, I asked why he enters the market when he does and exits when he does, he said it all down to experience and nothing else. He didn't study form or know anything about horses.

He did have this software running called "price it" (I think) and it showed live on course odds and he said that was a good indicator, I used it years ago and it didn't seem to help me at all, then it stopped working.

I don't believe he kept anything a secret, It really was like he was just very good at reading the market.
