What are you scraping these with? And are you finding that dog name alone is a reliable cross reference? Last question....are you applying the model live in your trading app or using a seperate pre-process to feed selectionid and target price to your trading app. Ie could it be executed with BA being fed by a csv/excel?

... One more... I don't think I ever asked what database you settled on. Access, SQL, MongoDB?
You know me Shaun, i've written some "code" !!ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 7:03 pmWhat are you scraping these with? And are you finding that dog name alone is a reliable cross reference? Dog name good yes, have to watch out for cases likes "reserves" changing the make up.
So "live" of sorts, at about 10mins out I query what I need, so in that sense absolutely you could feed this via a CSV Shared Stored Value input to a BA Rule set.
I ran the "model" bot live today, it made £7.45
JSON flat file API streams with marketbook Catalogue... I suspect I have a different "processing model" to you... I leverage bespoke Flumine strategies to pump out analysis I need.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 7:06 pm... One more... I don't think I ever asked what database you settled on. the English language has never been my strong point !ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:45 pmYou've started using "leverage" instead of "use" now too. What is it with people that make a few quid then start talking like Gordon Gecko. .
Darn that's twice today i've had to google what you've said, Gordon Gecko : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_GekkoShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:45 pmYou've started using "leverage" instead of "use" now too. I wouldn't bother, it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen.goat68 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:57 pm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Gekko

It's a classic! And unlike most movies it's not really a movie of its time, it's aged very well and is still relevant today.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 1:34 pmI wouldn't bother, it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen.goat68 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 9:57 pm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Gekko

The remake is crap but you can say that about 99.99% of remakes.

Yeah I agree. Whilst watching the film won’t necessarily make you a better trader, the first one is still worth watching.
Second one was awful though!

The problem with movies about a world you know is that they look so unrealistic but have to be to make a story. I was working with traders and trading systems from 1986, dark liquidity pool stuff in the 90s, HFT quants around the millennium, and a docu-movie about the people involved would be boring as fck . I'm not a movie person anyway, I've probably only seen a dozen.Trader Pat wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 1:41 pmIt's a classic!
