Tom Hat tugger's been eliminated. Great shame, the only candidate that would have been a change.
Looks like Rishi is the man then, although he wont be getting my vote.

So does this make Mordaunt the stalking mare? Creating a screen for Sunak?

IMO, of them all Sunak is the most plausible.
I'm still staunchly left-wing liberal, but cutting taxes now would result in cuts and plunge the most vulnerable into further misery.
Truss is just mental and could lead us to war.

I dont think Trus will lead us to war but I do think a war will happen before the next General Election. More and more Chinese fighter jets are flying near to Taiwan each day. China knows the US, Nato and Europe are preoccupied with Russia. It seems to me that Russia and China are going to push the west closer and closer to the edge of darkness.

Now that the hat tugger's out it's gonna be more of the same. For my money, Penny's more pleasant to the eyes than Sunak. She'd be more of a dominatrix than a date though.

Much as I enjoy your contributions that post is way off what I think is happening. China have proved they don't give two hoots about Western politics. If only China would apply themselves to the problems facing us all what a great world that would be. Ditto Russia. Sadly, politics isn't actually very good at sorting stuff out. Turning a supertanker is my favourite analogy for global politics. Unless it comes to killing, then we're pretty swift.

China wants Taiwan back in the fold and US administrations have basically said they will protect its territory including militarily.

As we have seen with Ukraine, mistakes can be very costly globally.

This morning, Sunak looks like he was going to be odds on. His price has moved out again. Penny was trading at 6 and she is back in the 4’s. Truss is fighting through and I’m going to guess she might be fav come end of the day

Truss has done well in the latest YouGov poll.

YouGov founded by the current Chancellor Zahawi. Make of that what you will.

Is looking like Truss when it goes to the Tory members.
God help us all. She could start WW3 before Xmas and/or slash taxes and services. She's a Rottweiler. I stand to be corrected should it happen and she turns our country around from it's current stagnation.

Suggestions of tactical voting, Sunak supporters lending Truss their vote to get rid of Mordaunt.

Truss will win when the Tory membership get their vote. Deep down they know that Sunak is probably the safest option but unlike MP's the members really dont like back stabbing and as much as we (Derek) can complain about BJ the membership will be against selecting Sunak.

Will she be any good, i highly doubt it if your a liberal, left wing or middle of the road voter.

The good news is she will probably only have 2 years in power:

- Not enough time to turn the country around. Will take 5 to 7 years at least with sound economic judgements.
- She will rip up the Northern Ireland protocol. This will lead to a big falling out with the EU and USA with possible trade war.
- Internal war looming with the trade unions. Strikes will become the norm like they are in France.
- Made a personal promise to Zelensky. I would not be surprised if she went against the current rational thinking with regard to EU, Nato and US. Remember everyone (including the military) telling Mrs 'T' that a war in the south atlantic was unwinnable. She hates Putin.

Ofcourse, i could be completely wrong. We shall see. :)

Liz Truss seems an odd choice. I can't see the electorate buying into her at all. Party politics is really odd. I can't really work out what they are doing?
