It's rained more in the last 3 days than in the last 3 months here in Norfolk, but for once I'm not ranting. I realise it's not just my lawn that needs it but everywhere I go seems to be getting greener and springing back to life.
Grass is as tough as old boots. We shouldn't be surprised it sits there dormant throughout winter and then miraculously bursts forth when temp/moisture/light permits. Nature is pretty wonderful.
I didn't take any chances with my lawn. I've heard grass can only survive a drought for so long, eventually the roots will die.
Nope. I guess if you want a lawn fit for crown green bowls, then perhaps.
As a regular walker through grassy areas I've been thinking "Well that's knackered".
A few downpours with temps still in the growing zone and Whoosh!!!
Even in an area that was dug up recently and the guys sprinkled some grass seed and it got trampled down and baked hard.
Now the grass is spreading again.
Think Prairie or Savanna. Grass is unstoppable.
