The monarchy is all about getting the heir to take over regardless of whether he's the right person or worst person.
RANT CORNER
Will he be coming over for the coronation?Kai wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 3:49 pmOddly enough the first world leader to congratulate King Charles III was Vladimir Putin : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... emony.htmlShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 3:27 pmThat was interesting, it's "Isabel" not just because it's their name equivalent, it's in respect as 'El' in Elizabeth can be misheard as a masculine prefix.

Don't tempt fate Derek, there'll be tens if not hundreds of thousands on the streets for the funeral, I'd class it as max risk for a terrorist attack/suicide bombing while the worlds eyes are on the occasion.
Indeed. I think his incessant complaining is just his copium, his own way of grieving if you willDublin_Flyer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 12:16 amDon't tempt fate Derek, there'll be tens if not hundreds of thousands on the streets for the funeral, I'd class it as max risk for a terrorist attack/suicide bombing while the worlds eyes are on the occasion.
Maybe mixed in with a few news addiction withdrawal symptoms
People talk about the biggest event in 70 years. It's actually the biggest event in 2200 years (just to precede Christ); not only are we without TV and radio but a complete breakdown in news. Even before Roman times they somehow managed to get messages around the world. Now somebody could have been murdered just down the road from me and I won't know because the local news is talking about the former queen and new king.Kai wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 1:27 amIndeed. And what was the point in getting William and Harry together for the cameras when they were just ignoring each other and only speaking to their own wives?
It's already happened. There's a major war going on in Ukraine, a serious knife attack in Canada killing at least ten people, a nine-year-old girl has been murdered in Liverpool and a third of Pakistan is underwater. If anything else happens I wouldn't know about it. Would it even make the news?
I'd like to know what's happening about the investigation into Olivia's murder or the guy arrested in Canada but all you'll see on the news is footage of the Canadian premiere greeting the queen. Instead of thinking about the queen, I feel for Olivia's parents, desperate for information from the public or criminal world but now realising that the murder of their daughter is no longer relevant or worth a minute of media attention. And the murderer must be jumping for joy right now, knowing that he's forgotten about.
Sky News went to great lengths to report the above events to the rest of the world and the desperate ongoing plight of people in Pakistan without food, medical aid, a roof over their heads and suffering from water-borne diseases. People and young children must be dying over there by the minute, but all of a sudden they don't give a fuck - because a much liked 96-year-old lady over here had died of natural causes!!
Britain has gone completely bonkers. I don't know why Putin doesn't start nuking us right now while we're so vulnerable. I bet even our defence forces are off duty until the funeral!
This is how you should behave when a head of state dies in North Korea, not Britain!
Don’t worry, derek27. Your beloved sky news will be back to normal soon enough. Though you might want to make some different plans for next Monday. Maybe go for a long walk, or do some cleaning or something.
In the meantime, I’m sure if you were that desperate, you could seek out some alternative news, perhaps on YouTube, or somewhere else on the internet.
Or just watch a dvd, or read a book. It’s not like we only have 5 channels and teletext still.

You left out trading. You obviously didn't understand my rant. It wasn't about what I want to watch.RoyJay wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 6:21 amDon’t worry, derek27. The death of a 96 year old woman is national tragedy for goodness sakes, have some respect. Anyway, why are you posting here, everyone should be in a week of mourning now, I'm just off for my self flagellation and to change the candles in my shrine.
