It's like watching the racing when a stable is going through a bad patch, all the names are there but it's just not clicking together, and there's no point watching the last furlong cos it's heartbreak every time

Just watching the highlights. Arteta has got it together. Not easy to be successful in this league. Full credit to him and his team.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 9:43 pmA year has been a long time in football for both teams.
As an LFC supporter I see defensive chaos. Thank heavens for Firmino. He should play every game until we get some consistent wins.
I have a 5hr train journey tomorrow to contemplate this.
Hope the Tartan Noir book I have to read distracts me.
FML, apparently VAR has blind spots.
"Hawk-Eye has 5 cameras around the pitch which can be used to place offside lines, but Saka was out of shot on all of them during the 1st Arsenal goal. VAR could not apply the lines, so Saka's offside position couldn't be determined, so VAR had to stay with the decision on the pitch, which was onside" : https://www.espn.com/soccer/english-pre ... e-decision

Probably more laying of Liverpool on the horizon, injuries to key players keep coming... this injury-prone squad is finished
- Luis Diaz, their best player this season, out for a few months, misses World Cup
- Artur Melo, the new injury-prone midfielder they got on loan, out with surgery
- Trent Alexander-Arnold out for up to 2 months, World Cup in doubt
- Matip out for a couple weeks
At this rate their top 4 chances are in serious doubtKai wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:04 pmProbably more laying of Liverpool on the horizon, injuries to key players keep coming... this injury-prone squad is finished

And subsequently the summer transfer of Jude Bellingham as wellArchangel wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:07 pmAt this rate their top 4 chances are in serious doubtKai wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 12:04 pmProbably more laying of Liverpool on the horizon, injuries to key players keep coming... this injury-prone squad is finished

What a shitshow this season has been
We have six league games left between now and the break for the world cup and if there's no sign of improvement by then I wouldn't be surprised if Klopp walked and that might be a good thing. It looks to me like he's out of ideas and his stubbornness to even acknowledge what everyone else can see is worrying. When Trent was getting slaughtered for his defending Klopp leaped to his defence by giving a speech about the high line. Was half expecting him to do a Bielsa and whip out a power point. Completely ignoring the fact btw that most of the criticism was aimed at Trent's inability to defend one on one not his positioning. Then there's Henderson who only seems to play to cover Trent's runs but he's just not good enough anymore if he ever was. And they both had a mare against Arsenal.
It's been a perfect storm of players out of form, players just not good enough and injuries but Klopp hasn't been great either. I reckon this team isn't far off needing a total reset meaning a new coach. Somebody not hell bent on playing so high up the pitch, we don't have the players to play that way anymore. The core group of players are still good enough to challenge but not in this system imo.

Oh btw Pat, I don't care about any of that anymore
While you were gone I've switched to supporting City

We're looking super strong this year with Haaland
