UK General Election 2024 (or 25)
If the country would re-elect a proven morally corrupt person like Johnson again as PM then perhaps we deserve all that we get....

Last poll I saw if translated into seats gave Labour 530, Cons 29, LD 16, SNP 52...
Which would put SNP into official opposition and not able to vote on English laws (due to
the English votes for English laws bill)... What a farce that would be...

The Conservatives have at least 120 seats that would still vote Tory, even if I rocked up wearing a blue rosette.
If that poll suggests they'll win 29 seats, I'd dismiss that immediately
I think a Labour majority should be about 1.8, but nothing would surprise me, which is why I don't bet on it, and I've made a loss on every political market I've traded.
If Truss does really badly (every time you think things can't get any worse it does!), Johnson might be welcomed back, Tory voters will be so glad to see the back of Truss they'll forget everything Johnson's done. In fact, Johnson/Sunak looks quite competent in comparison to Truss/Kwarteng.

While the speed of self-destruction is remarkable, Truss as PM isn't an aberration or accident. It's an inevitable consequence of the trashing of truth & norms that the Conservative Party embraced for Brexit. We have normalised madness now and are reaping the results in real time, like watching a car crash in slow motion

To be fair it was the Guardian that did the translation into seats not the polling company - I do like the scenario though )LeTiss wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 8:02 pmsionascaig wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 7:59 pmLast poll I saw if translated into seats gave Labour 530, Cons 29, LD 16, SNP 52...
