Been reading the newspaper over breakfast this morning and it got me thinking about the whole crisis and who is going to replace Putin eventually etc.

Realistically, looking at potential candidates there's not that many viable candidates left, since Putin has been very efficient in eliminating his political opposition one way or another over the past 20 years, which then got me thinking... has anyone else noticed how the disappearances of his political opponents seemingly coincides with Steven Seagal getting fatter and fatter during this exact same period ever since he moved to Russia?

Now I'm not accusing anyone of anything, I'm just saying it's a very interesting coincidence, is all. Matter of fact, if I were a betting man I'd say this is no coincidence at all.

"Your surrender is important to us, please stay on the front line..."

  I thought that was a British thing. Are answer machines like that in Croatia and elsewhere or are you phoning places in the UK?

Pretty sure it's not a British-only thing :)

But yeah, Ukraine has made every effort to reach Russian soldiers and help them surrender, their "I Want To Live" campaign has been a massive success. I'm sure a lot of these fresh conscripts already looked into it before they were mobilized, judging by the reports of those that have already been captured or have surrendered since the mobilization started.

Seen a clip the other day of a couple of soldiers surrendering along with their armored vehicle, they're going to get a lot of money for that.

If I were Ukraine I would say to the west, give us all the military hardware requested otherwise we surrender, give up Ukraine and 40+ million people will be looking for a new home in Germany, Poland and the rest of the EU.

That would get them off their backsides.

NATO is planning nuclear strikes, I mean nuclear drills.

That said, they could just be a cover for a preempt strike.

Forces.net reports:

UK to provide Ukraine with cutting edge AMRAAM air defence missiles for free.

These are capable of stopping Russian cruise missiles which have been raining down on Ukraine since they blew up the bridge connecting Crimea to Russia.
