The Tories mus tknow now the game is up. I imagine fromer red wall MP's are running around looking for a new job. When enough have their ducks in a row they'll eject Truss unceremoniously. She has finished what BJ started and made being a former red wall MP an irretrievable position.
I'm not gloating, I just want a govt that has a micron of talent.

Surely, saying sorry makes everything better…

Either she wants to make a leadership bid or she was the reason for the India trade deal to fall apart…

Two senior positions replaced within 6 weeks of her premiership. Shambles.

A cynic might think she committed a minor, technical, breach so she could get out easily before too much shit began to stick....
That was my 2nd reaction (after exasperation).

The way things are going we'll all take a turn in the cabinet. Betfair should have more leaving date markets, home sec, foreign sec and chancellor.

Oh what a circus (oh what a show)!

William Wragg is gonna vote with the government over fracking just to avoid losing the party whip so his 1922 letter doesn't lapse.

So, this vote really is going to be the day, if ever. All in or nothing.

The Anti Trusters have to coordinate this or their power will be depleted as their 1922 letter will be withdrawn.

Apparently, she was offered the job as home secretary in return for her support for Truss. At least she's taken responsibility for her mistakes, which very few Tory ministers are able to do.
Taken responsibility? Home office business on your mobile is (I hope) a sacking offence. Jump or be pushed. Truss sacking another cabinet minister would have been bad for the 'optics'.

Truss taking a major gamble. MPs that don't vote with her over fracking will lose the party whip. She could lose her majority. :D

You may be right. I may be left of centre but I'm 61 and know aligning with Labour or Tory is like being an England supporter. Occasional joy amongst unending disappointment.

However Labour haven't been tested in govt for over a decade. Truss has lost her Chancellor, Home Secretary (replaced now by someone she described as disloyal) has reversed nearly all the policies she was elected on in a matter of weeks.
Labour might be incompetent, we don't know. We do however know that Truss and by implication the whole Tory party are currently incapable of governing.

I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and it will have been a horrible dream. But it keeps going and going.

Fracking no longer a confidence vote probs because she knows it would be embarrassing to remove the whip from so many.

The government will lose the vote which will confirm what has been evident for the past week: a lame duck PM
