I've always been baffled why people place huge bets on the o/u markets until it's all gone. Drip-feed it, you know where the price is going!

Does it depend if you are backing laying, what if there is a goal?
Sorry, I should have said that's an under market. The point is, a large lay in the under market where there's not enough liquidity to take it quickly will simply hold up the market for a few minutes until the price is grossly poor value. He'd be better off laying it for a grand at 2.24, then another grand, let the price come down one or two ticks, then chuck a few more £1000s, etc. I'm sure he would have gotten it off quicker and at better prices.
Cool. I dont trade much football

Is the point here to scalp in and out, or hoping for a goal?

I haven't a clue what he was doing. He might have backed it with a similar sum and wanted to close, he might have been opening a trade waiting for a goal. Or it could have been a straight lay, in which case, he's won £10K. :)

But it's the same with trading races. As Peter said on some of his videos, whether you're opening or closing, it's not ideal to place an order in the market that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Well it's a market with time decay so price can't exactly run away from you, if you do want to get matched quicker

I don't understand why people enter a large lay order at 1.8 (unders) that holds up the market when they could spread it between 1.8 down to 1.76?

You get to a point where the price would have been 1.77 if the large order wasn't there so he could have got portions of the order traded at a better price.

Well use it against them then if it annoys you so much, don't have to understand everything, like I've been telling you all day :D

I was looking for the UFC thread earlier but couldn't find it, it had some decent volumes tonight, but what a ridiculous sport to trade, the fight was basically over within the first 10 seconds

It doesn't annoy me, I was just saying it baffles me. I usually take a chunk and wait for the dam to burst. :)

Lloris is such a twit. And so often. Anyhow he's put his team in the poo.
Is he making an application to be NUFC's keeper?

Soft penalty at Roma, if it's not VARed.

There's no pleasing Mourinho. He got his penalty VARed and he's still not happy.

Interesting match going on in Kazakhstan between FK Aksu and Ordabasy Shymkent

The match was 2-2 at HT. There was a 5th goal after the break when Aksu went 3-2 up
Betfair settled all the Under/Over 4.5 markets. They are closed, gone......however, 3 mins later VAR disallowed the goal

Under/Over 5.5 markets are carrying on, as if only 4 goals have been scored
What a cock up

Has anyone ever traded a match when the bet delay changed halfway through?

Trading a Brazilian Serie A match, flipping suspend monkey seems to suspend every time the ball is kicked, following a long suspension he must have changed the delay, from 5 to 9 seconds!!

Edit: gone back to 5 seconds after HT.

They're doing it again. The Chelsea match started off with a 7-second delay. Now it's 5!

Poor Dinamo Zagreb player sprinted the length of the pitch only to head the ball into his own net.

If you're gonna score an own goal though, 3-nil down with 20 minutes to go isn't the worst time to do it.
