Yeah, sure, and a 4th line is their nagging wives armed with pans.Kai wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 8:16 pmDid you hear how their defense lines are set up?Derek27 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 8:00 pmWhat's worse is that there's no tactical or strategic benefit in sending men to their deaths, as far as I can see.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 21, 2022 6:30 pm
That’s rather unfair and stupid on Putin’s part as a total of 87,000 Ukraine recruits and existing soldiers have been trained and kitted out with latest equipment by UK, USA, Germany and Poland.
Putin is basically just sending cannon fodder to an early death.
In 3 defensive lines with expendable convicts up front, then the inexperienced mobilized conscripts behind them with orders to shoot at anyone falling back, then whatever is left of the professional army in the back again with orders to shoot anyone falling back.

BBC News:
Russia and USA defense chiefs hold high level talks in a very rare event.

Which would also leave the captured nuclear power plant without power to maintain it. Very dangerous.
Not a military material to be honest, but who knows.
I guess it's not a myth about 1942 considering a few generations being heavily brainwashed by commie propaganda and the state's ability to totally control information flow. It was possible back then. But despite that I see some disturbing changes, we're absolutely not there (or then?). Yet.
Lack of reliable info sources and unnecessary secrecy makes all of this a "narrative ping pong". I hate the times we live in.

Pretty pathetic for the home of Mr Kalashnikov. The AK47 is a stamped receiver, not even machined by CNC or hand, they could churn out thousands per day if need be. Unless of course they running out of raw materials. More likely they don’t give a toss.
Reports suggest the body armour and helmets Russian troops are using (if the can get it) is ranked Class IIA. Which is the lowest and first used 40 years ago. In comparison Ukraine troops were given Class IIIA and good enough to stop a 7.62x39 round even at short distance. The higher the classification the heavier they are so III and IV are considered not practical for normal battlefield operations.
Body armour classification goes: IIA, II, IIIA, III, IV

This recent picture confirms what Derek said about outdated weapons.
These are new recruits, those AK47's are not made anymore and look about 40 years old.
They look a very fit bunch but then looking at their commander he wont go hungry over winter. He obviously likes pork pies and the odd can of beer.
While its part funny, those guys wont stand much of a chance.

Agree though, it's not funny when you look further ahead.

Archery's a former soldier. I guess he recognises the guns, unless you're referring to the commander's pork pie and beer weakness.greenmark wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 10:26 pmWhere is that reference from?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 10:09 pmThis recent picture confirms what Derek said about outdated weapons.
