Automation - Event Delays

Hi All,

If you are using Automation on Horse Racing and have the refresh interval set to 5 mins before and 5 mins after the race, what happens if there is a delay like at Redcar today?

I'm here and can deal with it now, but I'm just trying to understand if i wasnt watching, what would happen and would it potentially cause big issues?

My understanding is that it will refresh from 5 minutes before the scheduled time of the race to 5 minutes after the in-play time of the race, so you should be okay. I trust somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.

It uses the start time as shown in your 'Start Time' column next to that market which as Derek has said would be the official start time when you added the markets to Guardian.
But you can edit these so if you know all the races at a meeting have been put back 10mins due to an abandoned meeting elsewhere you can manually change these times
But if a start of a single race is delayed through a loose horse etc it will have no way of knowing thats happened

Thank you for the replies, just to be clear though on my understanding, I was thinking if I had it 5 mins before and 5 mins after and the race was delayed by 1 hour say, then my automation would still kick in on that race, but it wouldnt be refreshing fast enough and could cause me a nightmare.

Is that not the case? is the 5 mins after actually 5 mins after the actual race does end in real life, or 5 mins after the scheduled race time?

sorry if i'm being dumb but the wording on the boxes says "From seconds before start time" and "from seconds after start time"

so i just want to understand correctly lol

Trap a delayed start error by including a condition that looks at the volume in a race. Either by total or by volume over time.

That's how I stop my automation from triggering on an event that is delayed.

No it wouldn't, its the time that's shown in the 'Start Time' column it uses not the actual time they go off (unless you've manually changed that start time)

Just realised the end time is a period after start time and not the time the market goes in-play. I've never used it.

And I didn't realise you can edit the start times.
