I got all excited when I saw a dozen eggs left. Should have known they were the broken eggs that everybody left. At least I did what nobody else has done and left the box open, to avoid a potential punch-up over broken eggs. :)

How people manage to stock up for a week in anticipation of being snowed in is quite mind-boggling. Just 24 hours without a supermarket has got my brain on overdrive.

The King's speech is half an hour long! The Queen didn't speak for that long did she?

Windows 11 doesn't allow custom toolbars on the taskbar. And the start menu, as with Windows 10, doesn't allow folders with cascading shortcuts or even folders on their own. Windows 98 did! Microsoft is advancing in technology but at the same time going backwards in useability.

And they don't allow you to start with a local account. You have to sign in with a Microsoft account, create a local account and then remove your Microsoft account!

One improvement in Windows 11, it only takes 5 minutes to remove all the crap from the start menu and task bar. Windows 10 was a 20-minute job!

I found a site that allows you to type in the lyrics you remember of a song and it will search a database and tell you the song. flipping useless! I ended up typing out entire verses; about 40% of the lyrics - and it still couldn't find it!

Microsoft Edge closed while you had pages open. Would you like to restore them?

No! If I still wanted them I wouldn't have flipping closed Microsoft Edge, would I?!!

I use Spotify for that, then you can load it straight to your device

Cheers, I'll try that next time. I remembered it in the end. :)

I remember when using Windows 98 I'd have folders on the desktop full of shortcuts before I realised you could put them somewhere else and link a taskbar toolbar to them, or even have your own folder on the start menu. It looks like Windows 11 has gone back 30 years as far as the UI is concerned. It's all well and good having a recent documents folder but if you've just read 30 docs you're never gonna read again it's not much use.

At least they've dropped the "my" in my computer, my documents, my pictures, etc. But they still think it's appropriate that innocent pictures of your cat and pictures you've taken up a girl's skirt should be placed in the same folder because they're pictures, and they have to tell you where that folder should be! Bring back the Windows 98 interface.

I could probably write a book about what's wrong with Windows 11 and Microsoft!

Recent files have now become "recommended" files under Windows 11. Paedophiles who look at child pornography will click on their start menu and find Microsoft recommend that they look at them again.

Microsoft has disabled displaying the seconds in the taskbar clock! Why? They're going out of their way to reduce features!

Maybe there is an AI at work and it thinks most people would group those photo's together under a Pussy folder

I watched the first episode of David Attenborough's Frozen Planet II last night. They should advise you at the beginning to have a box of tissues by your side!!
I've given up watching nature progs, it's just things eating each other with a big dose of anthropomorphising to tug at the heart strings.

Daytime animal welfare charity ads are as bad, and Imo the graphic footage of animals suffering should be post-watershed.
Agree. People who abuse donkeys should be rounded up and shot. You can't train the incompassionate to care for donkeys!
They've obviously been reading the BA forum, saw my post, and now they've revised their advert, claiming that the people who work donkeys to their deaths do their best to help them but don't have the means or knowledge.
