I am a newbie and trying to learn fast but sometimes i think am making money until i see my balance decreasing.
Today I went to manual betting and backed on the place markets, then layed all same the bets at a lower price. All the 18 bets were matached (some in-running) yet I still made a loss, could I have some setting wrong or is maybe the commission charges from betfair wiping out and profit? all my bets had a margin of approx 0.4 so am obviously doing something wrong?

I have the greening function on and click any green box beside any horse when they all show green if I have bets that are not taken up, I assume that it doesn't matter what box I tick as they all show the same figure? After I click on it they greening still fluctuates, should it not pause at what you green up at so you know your position?
Also if all the bets are taken up then surley it doesn't make a difference clicking a green box beside a horse as all the betts have now been placed?
Any reason why my balance should reduce, and does bet angel take into account betfair commission charges?

If you have the green box ticked {its just above the trade profit tab at the top of your page )
and lets say you have a good trade with a profit ,then just click on the trade profit button relating tom your profit or loss horse and this wil green or red all for you.

When I started out I had this problem mostly on tennis markets where you would green up and the green up price kept changing.
It only happened to me though when I placed a lot of back and lay bets on 1 selection in one particular market. I still dont know what caused it but if it happens again check the 'LOG' tab on BetAngel and it might give you an idea.

Are you sure they're weren't any non runners in the race? If you laid in running it's possible the no runner wasn't taken out and any deductions would then only apply to the back bets but not your in running lays. What race was it?
