Hey all,

Anyone got a magic trick for finding filtering to find the Head to Head markets in horse racing, I tried using text of Space v Space (so the event names are often Horse A v Horse B) however it brings back pretty much anything with a V in the market name or course.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Search (or create a market filter to search) for the text;
Match Betting 1

Hello Dallas,

I have used these results to create rules for a bot (promo.betfair.com/betfairsp/prices)

I made a bot using the IP min column, my rule was once £100 has been traded on the selection at below a certain price the bot puts in a trade, when I have checked those results against the bot results this morning it placed trades on 18 more horses than it should of.

Am I misinterpreting the criteria for recording the IP min?

According to the page it says:

IPMIN Minimum price placed in-play (only bets of a payout of more than GBP100 included)

Now obviously you can put £25 on a horse at 5 on the back side and it has a payout of £100 if it wins but if you were laying you would need a trade with a liabilty of £400 to have a £100 payout.

So the figures are more accurate to making a bot would you use the higher figure for money traded so if I wanted it to put in a trade I would set the money traded to £400 if I wanted it to trigger at 5 for example?

Thanks

Sorry didn't I realise it was the Aus AvB markets you were wanting to find, the Match Betting 1 search term was only applicable to UK AvB markets

For some reason Betfair don't actually name these markets on the API for Aus races, so the only way you could search for them in BA would be by using part of a runners name in a general search which means filters aren't any use for them - unless BF actually give them an actual name or list them under something

(match betting 1 for UK races is an odd name but at least it finds them)

That uses the same search term as I advised above, it's OK for UK races but it won't work on the Aus races

I’ll have to double check but im pretty sure that filter does bring up the Aus markets.

One thing to bear in mind, the AvB markets don’t get add till about an hour before the first race.
It may look like the filter is not working, in reality the markets have not been added to Betfair.

Its worth another set of eyes checking over it, but I did double check some Aus races late last night before they were about to start (as I'd not looked for several moths) and although they both appear on a 'AvB' tab on the BF website the UK races have 'matched betting 1' whereas Aus races this is blank

So on the API market list the UK races get pulled through as Match Betting 1, but in Aus markets they are only listed as the start time then 'Horse name 1 V Horse name 2'

I can't remember if the search area excepts wildcard characters and never thought to try it last night, so if you are around later this evening to double check it then it might also be worth trying some wildcard symbols like * v *

I can confirm that my filter does pull the Aus AvB markets.

My filter uses the (Filter markets by market type) tick match_bets rather than using text.

Ah yes just tried it and it does indeed find them Image

I never even noticed earlier your filter used the market type rather than search text, maybe context blindness because the markets it found in your image with it had 'match betting 1' beside them lol

At least that saves waiting for BF to sync the market titles :)
