It's an injection in the back of your hand. It takes seconds. Apparently you're compliant and even talk but totally unaware which is wierd. I remember becoming conscious in the car but kept nodding off again for a few hrs. It's the end of quite a bit of work, 3 tooth bridge one side, 2 on the other side. They were a mess after years of NHS bodging and me being scared of going.
When I was a kid they'd knock you out for anything, gas and air. I'd be puking and tasting it all day it was awful.
Googled the chances of a double yolk and it is approx 1000/1. However double yolks can come in clusters and are more common with young hens. This makes sense as they are pushing hard to increase the numbers so they maybe introducing hens at an earlier age than before. So looks like I have found an eggde in chicken production.
The last 2 in my dozen were both singles, but the chances of me getting 3 in a dozen must still be million/1 even factoring in young hens

There was a sad case of a woman who lost two children to cot death being wrongly convicted on a similarly flawed basis - squaring the probability of cot death.andy28 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 8:40 amPerhaps not a Million to one,

What is the actual point of economic predictions ?
They are constantly reviewed and changed and are of zero use as far as I can see

Swap 'economic" for' 'sports market'

It's basically a prediction of where the economy will be if Covid doesn't strike or Putin doesn't start a war.Archangel wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 4:00 pmWhat is the actual point of economic predictions ?

on a similar note. i USED to pretty much always leave the keys in my car whether parked at home or out and about (we live in quite a safe wee town near the borders). one day however, i'd driven to the local BIG town and set about my usual mundane shopping chores. on returning, i couldn't find the vehicle and suspected that it had been pinched. i was just mustering up the courage to present my embarrassing story at the local cop shop when i saw said vehicle drawing up next to me. the window rolled down and inside was one of my sons. he'd arrived in town and seeing the car had decided to give himself a lift around town on his pre-visit chores. was quite hard to reprimand him, given that i'd been so lax with my security (and also that he'd WA'd me and I hadn't checked!).

long story short, have sadly now joined the rest of the population and lock and remove my keys on every trip.. t'was a golden period tho

Depends where you live I think. I lived in Brum for 10 years. Was burgled twice, had a car stolen, had the wheels of another stolen (std wheels), had another vandalised. It's what city life does to people that hurts everybody. There is no solution other than to be nice and protect yourself and those you care about.jimibt wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 4:24 pmon a similar note. i USED to pretty much always leave the keys in my car whether parked at home or out and about (we live in quite a safe wee town near the borders). one day however, i'd driven to the local BIG town and set about my usual mundane shopping chores. on returning, i couldn't find the vehicle and suspected that it had been pinched. i was just mustering up the courage to present my embarrassing story at the local cop shop when i saw said vehicle drawing up next to me. the window rolled down and inside was one of my sons. he'd arrived in town and seeing the car had decided to give himself a lift around town on his pre-visit chores. was quite hard to reprimand him, given that i'd been so lax with my security (and also that he'd WA'd me and I hadn't checked!).![]()

I dare say Victorian or medieval Britain was distinctly more challenging.
On a positive note where I've been for 15 + years, folks leave their garages open and I've left the front door open for hours without any problem. Lucky? You betcha and I appreciate my fortune.
