I love the way the media is more focused on the audience's body language and reaction to Putin's speech than Putin himself.

Stalin's standing ovations were so long because nobody dared to be seen as the first to stop clapping. :)
Sky News caught somebody in the front row asleep in Putin's audience. What's gonna happen to him?

He or she will be flying out of a window in due course.

He looked as though he was already dead.

But I think they'll be a lot of people falling out of windows in Moscow. That must have been an incredibly boring speech when even the risk of losing your life can't keep you awake.

Ukraine set to receive some new hardware:

The new weapon, the Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB), will allow Ukraine's military to hit targets at twice the distance reachable by the rockets it now fires from the U.S.-supplied High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). If included as expected in an upcoming weapons-aid package, the 151-kilometer GLSDB will put all of Russia's supply lines in the east of the country within reach, as well as part of Russian-occupied Crimea. This will force Russia to move its supplies even farther from the front lines, making its soldiers more vulnerable and greatly complicating plans for any new offensive. Failure to do so means they will potentially face catastrophic losses. They will initially receive 300 at a cost of $40,000 each.

While I find this funny, it is also very sad that so many died. If they had made it to Kyiv then the Ukraine soldiers would have been outnumbered 12 to 1

Its a long read but reading that the Russians had maps going back to 1960 just about sums up the fcuk up. Don't they have satelliites ?

How can a 35 mile convery of military hardware and personnel dissappear ?

A significant minority in Britain and US are rooting for Russia, I can't get my head around it.

There has always been a number of UK based people supporting Russia going back to the cold war.

In large part this is actively funded by their regime, corruption is their greatest weapon against the West

"their" is a generalisation that could be interpreted as Russians regime. In fact, it's Putin's regime. I think the distinction between Putin and Russian is worth emphasising.

Even before the invasion Russia's demographics were in very bad shape, this insane war must be rendering them into a pitiful state.

Same difference, there is no opposition. They've all been jailed, exiled, bankrupt, silenced or killed.

Russian people have no voice whatsoever, they are being systematically depoliticized and forcibly conscripted.

There is only one regime and replacing one cult leader with another doesn't solve anything.

Bleeding them dry of resources is the only approach that seems to be working.

I think we should take out sanctions against South Africa.

Don't go that way Kai, cause next thing you'll have to say is "let's start a witch hunt" or "let's get rid of traitors". And what then will be your difference from the boogeyman?

If you feel that you're a part of not-global-infrastructure-bombing, not-overthrowing-overseas-rural-regimes, not-refusing-to-pay-debts-for-resources western society than just let other people have their inherent right to have controversial opinion.
