I must have been on the football thread when Dallas moved the posts, then clicked on a post and switched threads without realising it.

He seems pretty thick skinned to me plus he must of known the backlash.
I don't think anyone predicted the full extent of the revolution. Next, football fans will refuse to watch football, players will refuse to play and traders will stop trading football!Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 6:23 pmHe seems pretty thick skinned to me plus he must of known the backlash.

ROFL. With Sam Smith and Eddie Izzard commentating on 'Match of the THEY'.

Quite the opposite. Tim has been swamped with messages of support and thanks for actually taking a stand on employees paid by the public purse breaching their contracts.
You can't defend the indefensible, Derek, equating British Government policy with Nazi Germany and the Holocaust as Lineker did. Like all BBC (licence fee paid) employees, he's paid to entertain and remain IMPARTIAL at all times.
He didn't and unless he commits to remaining impartial and refraining from his repellent comments on social media, he will no longer be employed by the BBC. About time too!

You're jumping on the bandwagon CS. Have you actually read Lineker's tweet?Crazyskier wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 6:42 pmQuite the opposite. Tim has been swamped with messages of support and thanks for actually taking a stand on employees paid by the public purse breaching their contracts.

He didn't compare government policy with Nazi Germany or the Holocaust. He was comparing the government's rhetoric with that of Germany in the 1930s. The Holocaust occurred in the 1940s.
Furthermore, Lineker is not employed by the BBC. He's a contractor/freelancer. His contract isn't in the public domain so we don't know what it says.

Lineker didn't compare the Tory Government's immigration policy to the holocaust he compared the policy to those akin to 1930's Germany. At no point has he compared it to the holocaust. That link in which you have made up is as naïve as it is stupid.Crazyskier wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 6:42 pmQuite the opposite. Just because people are paid by the public purse doesn't mean they can't express an opinion whether you agree with them or not. Many work for the BBC and express a personal opinion but all of a sudden you now believe it to be an issue. Have you raised impartiality with the BBC before or is it a case of it's just never suited your agenda?
You talk about impartiality, should all BBC employee's remain impartial or just the ones who's opinions you don't like? What about BBC Chairman who's currently under investigation for facilitating an £800k loan for Boris Johnson, what about his 400K donation to the Tory Party?

Someone's been getting a bit too worked up reading their Daily StarMichael5482 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 2:47 pmGary has simply called the Tory's out for what they are the absolute the scum of the earth, incompetent, racist, corrupt with not one ounce of compassion in them.

I've always felt that way but I try not to get too controversial on this forum.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 2:47 pmGary has simply called the Tory's out for what they are the absolute the scum of the earth, incompetent, racist, corrupt with not one ounce of compassion in them.

And what about all the tea ladies (or perhaps boys now) and cleaners that work for the BBC? Shouldn't their mates shop 'em when they give their political views down the pub?
