Because Sky and BT show most of the games live I don’t think you can show games as soon as the last one finishes. It’s all in the contract agreements worth billions. Would cost the BBC allot of money if Sky and BT agreed. At the moment BBC can only show restricted highlights well after games have finished. The premier league are not stupid, they got the whole TV financials sown up tighter than a ducks arse.Kai wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 2:07 pmI get traditions but MOTD is a bit archaic at this point and doesn't really fit in today's fast-paced world. Watched a season or two in the past but would never find time to watch anymore, no chance.
By the time it comes on people have already forgotten about football and seen what they wanted to see, do they really need all day to cut a few highlights, it's on too late, don't people have to work in the morning etc etc. They need a lot more content than a few scripted seemingly witty lines from Lineker or Shearer's "I thought they were poor" analysis to make it worth.
Give it a revamp or something, run it soon as last match ends or make it part of that last match somehow, look at Monday Night Football.

Well yeah, it's your biggest export, it just proves the point, if BBC are happy with football leftovers why would you consume that, very poor value.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 2:15 pmBecause Sky and BT show most of the games live I don’t think you can show games as soon as the last one finishes. I'd rather consume a fresh delicious meal than heat up leftovers from the fridge, lol.
Don't want to be cynical but maybe Lineker isn't too fussed about his current job, if he thinks that MNF surpassed his show.
Sounds like a bargain, if they would score some easy points by hiring himArchery1969 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 12:55 pmApparently BT and ITV are lining up offers to triple Gary’s BBC income.![]()
Off topic but a chilli stored in the fridge overnight is a step up from the original. Just saying!Kai wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 2:29 pmWell yeah, it's your biggest export, it just proves the point, if BBC are happy with football leftovers why would you consume that, very poor value.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 2:15 pmBecause Sky and BT show most of the games live I don’t think you can show games as soon as the last one finishes. I really wish Micah Richards would tweet something anti-government. His laugh just grates
If drugs were involved with MNF I would suggest they would be more likely to be cocaine type drugs (stimulants). They all get a bit fighty, that is not my experience of people on weed. It would be more like " Hey Gary Neville that's a really interesting opinion" and "Jamie Carragher you're not the right wing looney I thought you were".
Eh. Still, as a trader you could potentially earn more, PLUS have a bigger audience for your forum rants than MOTD has!
