Wow Mehdi seems an incredible mover here. I saw the price last night and thought there is no chance the the horse could keep shortening but here we have it. 1.6 to 1.25 is a massive move so such a short horse I think. I've only been looking at it for a few years but I've not seen too much like this.

That's what I thought last night at 1.37 but I got stung. Never mind I'll try and recover before the off.

Very easy winner in the end. Very strange market, I got whapped on that thanks to just strange stuff all over the book.

AS the race unfolded, the market proved to be right. Did you notice that crazy move on Margo Channing?

Have to say the card looks pretty poor today.

Sorry but it's happened again in the 14.00 at Catterick. It's not on the same scale by any means but it is interesting none the less. Code Cracker traded at 2.9 down to 1.9. I've been watching racing long enough to know this happens more than you would expect in maidens but it still boggles my mind. As it happened yesterday proved the price was good and I'm sure those form students would have been on the winning side but a maiden is still a maiden. I've seen some odd things happen in maidens and from my gambling days hate to see any maiden go off too short or too high. Lady of Burgundy went of at 350 on Betfair went to 1000 before winning. Sweet child o'mine was another 200 winner in a maiden. I mention these two since I actually backed both but I still find it weird that in maidens favourites will get backed down because they are favourites. It doesn't happen everytime and I wouldn't want to divulge what percentage of the time I've found it happens but I wouldn't mind hearing what other people think about maiden markets and whether they are more or less predictable than your generic race.
