If you're lucky she might be asked that in court.

Trump was singing jail house rock with other inmates while in detention.

I didnt see any of it but offically he has pleaded not guilty to 34 criminal charges... and buggered off back to Florida
Sky anchorman was interviewing a lawyer.
Anchorman: If you were Trump's lawyer and he said that to the judge [highly partisan, family well-known Trump haters, unfair disaster on a previous Trump-related case, gave horrible juror instructions, impossible to deal with during the witchhunt trial, daughter worked for Kamala Harris, kangaroo court] what would you say to him?
Lawyer: I'd say shut up or I quit.

Okay, so he wasn't handcuffed but there was a policewoman standing right behind him in court equipt with handcuffs clearly visible. I've no doubt she had CS spray or a taser, maybe even a gun and was ready to deal with him just like any other criminal.

"Judge Joseph Cosgrove told Sky News that Trump's Secret Service agents were legally bound to 'protect him at all cost,' with former presidents entitled to Secret Service protection for life under federal law. "No matter where he goes, court, police station, jail or prison he will have secret service protection at all times."
Most experts agree that Trump is unlikely to face any jail time, its more likely that he will be subjected to a fine, community service or probabtion if he is convicted. If the worse was to happen then the outcome most people agree on is a period of detention at a military prison with an appeal lodged the same day at the Supreme Court who would almost certainly order his release to serve any custodial sentence via home arrest.

I don't know who it was but one expert on Sky News said that if he ignores the judge's requests to shut up the judge can't have him taken into custody. His security detail won't allow it.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 10:25 pm"Judge Joseph Cosgrove told Sky News that Trump's Secret Service agents were legally bound to 'protect him at all cost,' with former presidents entitled to Secret Service protection for life under federal law. If that's the case, if I was Biden, I'd call in the military, Navy Seals, Delta Force, the unit so secretive that nobody knows exists, etc.
Alternatively, surround his Mar-A-Lago home, give everybody two hours to surrender and then vaporise the building from the air.

The problem here is everyone is in uncharted territory, no doubt the secret service agents were briefed what to do in every circumstance. Unfortunately for them, they took an oath and could find themselves in Jail if they failed in their duty by turning a blind eye. It doesnt matter what they think privately, their job/mandate is to protect him even if he gets up, runs towards the judge and spits at him or worse. They would surround Trump, guns drawn and be enttitled to shoot anyone, including court officers, police or anyone else that tried to stop/hurt the former president.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 10:34 pmI don't know who it was but one expert on Sky News said that if he ignores the judge's requests to shut up the judge can't have him taken into custody. Some might find that rather nuts but its their job.
But it's also the job of the armed forces to protect the constitution and uphold the law. In a constitutional crisis, common sense is the only answer.

Here lies the problem(s) Derek, dont shoot the messenger as i didn't write the constitution or federal laws.
1. Federal law does not allow prison or any other officer inside a civilian prison armed with firearms. Unless a riot or kidnap has/is taking place.
2. Federal law states the current and former president must be protected at all times with agents/officers carrying the required firearms.
If Trump was sent to civilian prison then you would have 2 federal laws conflicting each other. In such an event, the only people who can rule on that is the Supreme Court. Who would throw the arguments out and have Trump released or not be sent there in the first place.
3. The constitution does not mention if or if not a current or former president can be sent to prison. Probably on purpose as it could pit soldier against soldier etc Trump did have allot of support in the armed forces, dont know if he still does but again, not sure anyone wants to go there.
This is where its all rather nuts. People will say "Nobody is or should be above the law" but how do you deal with a 1st in USA history, it basically throws the entire legal system up in the air.
Ofcourse, if found guilty then he should be punished but I suspect it wont be as clear cut as that. The Supreme Court, who Trump can appeal too will basically want all this to go away asap. Locking him up would not make it go away asap.
If it looks like its going to go badly for him then some sort of plea bargain will take place, pay this fine, sign this to say you will never run for president again and you avoid prison. If not then military prison or deported to the UK.
