The snowflakes of today should stop moaning. They would blame the government if they got hit by lightning for fuck sake. They need to grow a pair, although they probably cant as they not sure what they have down below.

In 1981 mortgage rates hit 18.45%. I was 12 at the time but don't remember my parents moaning about it and I still got my fish fingers on a Friday, so didn't care.
For someone who dislikes snowflakes, you sure do a lot of moaning. Grow a pair!
That's cause I am moaning at all you lot. Seems to be allot of snowflakes on this forum.

Starmer: Does the prime minister know how many mortgage payers are paying higher rates since the Tory party crashed the economy?

I think my dad paid off his £1500 mortgage by then. The issue isn't how high mortgages are but the sheer mind-boggling level of incompetence that caused it. :)

sionascaig explained the reasons, sounds good to me. :)
Yes, obvious really ... "Oh fuck, this is trouble with a capital T, I need a bush to hide behind ... I know, I'll just refuse to cooperate". I can just imagine the outcry if anybody took that stance with her investigation into Partygate. This whole thing smells more and more by the day but I can see you have a peg on your nose, I wouldn't expect it any other way!

I haven't drawn any conclusions on this one. If there has been inappropriate discussions between Gray and Starmer at an inappropriate time then both will have questions to answer, but they'll be no more guilty than Gray and Boris the Liar for having a secret meeting, not that that would justify it.

"Snowflake is a derogatory slang term for a person, implying that they have an inflated sense of uniqueness, an unwarranted sense of entitlement and unable to deal with opposing opinions."

Sounds like the defining features of Boris Johnson to me?!

I see Peston has had a real go at Sue Gray, very much along lines expressed above.

Absolute farcical election. Reports of people being turned away with valid ID and having to argue with the poll staff. Come the general election we could end up following the US path of settling the election results in the Supreme Court, even if it's not close!

My landlord is the local conservative candidate.
I was tempted to wish him luck and say I'd ticked him in the hope he'd reduce my rent but knowing him he'd put it up.

Sky News is reporting that very few people were turned away without ID. Perhaps the assumption is that people who don't have ID don't have any brains either but I think it's more likely that people without ID wouldn't have bothered turning up in the first place.

The electoral commission have said that it "posed a challenge for some groups in society".
I don't know how hard it is to turn up with something, there was a list of about 30 appropriate items on my polling card.

The only two items that everybody has is either a pair of testicles or a pair of tits!

The only two on the list I was given that I possess were driving licence and passport, but some people won't have either of those. Given we're in a cost of living crisis where people can't afford to feed their kids, I doubt they're likely to waste money on a photo booth to apply for the so-called free election pass.

Even if they are, if hard-up Labour voters have to jump through extra hoops just for the opportunity to vote, a problem that's less likely to affect Tory voters, it's not a free or democratic election. Just another scummy tactic from the present government. Don't know how they get away with it!

So with here in the very blue part of Herts, it's a shoe-in for the council ones, but there was a local rag review of what people thought which was "Shapps out" (our local MP). I voted with woman liberation party the last time at proper elections in that it was what I believed in,

I forgot to check the price for a Labour Majority before the locals but it's now down to 1.81/1.87

Was 2.04 last time I checked, maybe a week ago.
