I suppose if the great unwashed masses continue to buy into the whole class system and that these people on the balcony are their "betters", then thats how the monarchy continues.

We are all hypocrites, Shaun. Sinners too.
Speak for yourself!
The easiest way to elevelate yourself is by bringing others down. Sticking to my principals has come at enormous personal cost (such as leaving a 150k job to move across the country and take custody of my son requiring me to take a part time min wage job ) and the assumption that morality only comes with faith is incredibly offensive.

People at home who wanted to swear their allegiance complaining that the words weren't displayed on TV.

They want to pledge their loyalty but not to the extent that they could be arsed to get a copy of the words beforehand.

I don't think anyone hereabouts asserted that morality only comes with faith?

There are sadly too many examples of people doing harm in the name of God, and using His message for their own nefarious purposes, despite those messages largely being about love, charity and respect for others.

Naturally, to be a practicing Christian means to have a strong sense of duty and moral compass to guide your life decisions and judgements, however there are many people of little or no faith that do enormous amounts of good in the world. I don't think anyone questions this.

Yes, all those paedophile priests, naturally, they had a strong sense of duty and moral compass!

Personally I don't see anyone as 'betters", the royals are just head of PR for GB Plc. They're born into slavery rather than privilege and work for me. The class system is her to stay I'm afraid, it's human nature, from the Pharaohs onwards, so the way to deal with it is to value what we have and see ourselves as 'betters'.

Doesn't mean I won't stand beside you come the glorious revolution though :)

I agree with that on the whole and I'm glad you can see that us heathens aren't a bad bunch, although you called me a hypocritical sinner :) I just don't see much love, charity and respect from most who claim to be guided by a higher power. Even people singing a song in a competition don't get respected enough be allowed their own options and certainly not loved. They often only love and respect people made in their own image.

Oh - that's a whole other conversation on cognitive and unconscious biases 😉We all have them, by the way. It's part of the human condition and utterly inescapable.

Should we all start to wear a sheath on our dicks (like tribesmen) and pray on holy gretta or some other progressive pagans bs, and abandon thousands years proven cure for mass psychosis and destructively fast paced unhealthy modern life rythm - traditional religion? Once the most believing nation ( 'mericans) abandoned - the result are chimeras and circus freaks take the stage.

I just don't get that suicidal stance on traditional religion - it's like to throw away your uncle's anti-anger drugs! Shooting yourself in the foot.

Transcending the human condition and escaping such primal urges is just one step on the road to enlightenment. It's certainly not inescapable, just difficult.

Discovering the laptop you bought has TN Panels rather than an IPS display is quite a disappointment. There is a huge difference in quality of picture, you always want an IPS. :x

Did anyone notice the photographer standing behind king & queen on the balcony get head-butted out of the way?

I read someone on twitter saying if Jimmy Savile was still alive he would have been on the guest list for todays Coronation, it stopped me in my tracks and after consideration I think that is absolutely right. Only his death resulted in the truth coming out.

He Would Have Been There!

Nightmare trading the Lens/Marsella match. Ladder stopped working and automated servant was firing phantom bets. Had a large liability and had to go to the Betfair site to cash out. Turned out my alt key was somehow locked and I was starting the wrong servants.

Rebooted, changed underpants and all is well just in time for Real Madrid.
