Hi. I don't know how many of you followed Leonthefixer's blog titled 'Don't give up your day job' but for a first time trader it was/is very helpful as it shows him going from a £50 bank two years ago, to making substantial earnings today. It really was a good, honest, no-B.S blog.

I just popped onto the blog to see if he had made any updates to find that ALL of his posts, going all the way back, have been deleted and in its place is a dodgy Counting Crows youtube music video.

His youtube account has also been closed.

Do any of you know what happened to all the content, and if the guy is alright?

His blog was amazingly helpful for me as I take my first faltering steps in trading.

Cheers

I also noticed that earlier. Got no idea why though. If you followed the blog in Google Reader the whole history is saved, so you could still read the old posts. Do you use Google Reader?

shame its shut, reckon the negative replies and personal digs
pissed him off. he posts often on another forum (i suspect he posts/visits this forum) so no doubt all will come to light.
i doubt (hope not) if there is anything to worry about in regards to his well being. shame its shut, by far the best one out there.

I'd managed to read through the 1st years worth of his posts looking for tips/inspiration and then is vanished! Shame really as he had obviously put a lot of time and effort into updating it.

I think leon just got fed up of it.

At the end of the day if you blog you seem to get lots of flak, even if its not your own sometimes! There is a small minority that seem to spend all day and night hunting through blogs and forums just to deliberately trying to stir up and cause hassle. It seems to be the same everywhere, not just in this sector. While it's a shame people do this I guess they have there own person reasons to do so. Shame really. Whether you agree with content or not, it's always worth listening to.

As several of you know I am the person behind the blog, so just to clear a few things up:

I am not dead, lost my bank, lost my head or had the blog hacked.

As Bet Angel (Peter I guess) said, I got fed up of it and all the rude and hidden agenda comments etc.

As anyone who read the blog for a while will now I stopped it twice before but ended up coming back so this time I took the step of deleting it all so I was not tempted to do the same again. So I will definitely no longer be bloging.

I will however continue to post on the forum, however, what comes first and foremost is my trading. I used to enjoy the blog and the interaction it brought with other traders but as people began to stir things up and cause me hassle it stopped becoming enjoyable and therefore its reason to exist ended.

My time and efforts will instead be spent on my trading which I am glad to report is going from strength to strength, however, as I said on the blog, the more I learn the more I realise I have to learn and feel that my trading and winnings have much much further to go = exciting times :)

As for the video that is on the blog if you listen to the lyrics you will understand why I posted it and not just the obvious line in the song!

Best of luck with your trading and thanks for the comments and glad at least some people enjoyed it!

Cool well at least we haven't lost you completely Leon. I can see why Peter has disabled comments and I'm sure that other successful traders will probably stop or do the same eventually. There is a lot of jealousy out there and it is a shame they can't just get on with their lives without trying to sabotage something along the way.

I suppose it's the price you guys have to pay for taking all of their money :D

Anyway thanks again for the blog Leon, I read it all previously and found it very useful. Best of luck and thanks for clarifying you are still alive 8-)

Sorry to hear that you have given it up Andy, but at the end of the day you don't need all the grief that comes with the blog I suppose. I found it very informative and it certainly helped me when I was first starting out. A very honest appraisal of trading and a riveting read. So it's sad that you have stopped, but as long as you are happy that's the main thing.

I have a Razor Mamba mouse and Belkin N52te keypad as well as Auto Hotkey and Winsize 2 thanks to some of your tips in recent weeks/months :).

All the best with your trading anyway and thanks for all the sharing of your experiences in the past.

How's the Razor mouse?

That was one I considered but ended up going for the Logitech G9 - wish I had invested in a decent mouse a long time before. It makes such a difference to have one that is properly designed when you consider how much you use it.

Now can't wait to get my new chair on Wednesday - been meaning to get a good one for ages but kept not getting round to it until the other day, been meaning to get one ever since Adam Heathcote did that blog post a long while back about chairs. Not gone for a 'crazy' kneeling one but got one hell of a bargin by buying last years model! A cool £460 off :D

Also going to miss your blog andy, the last few posts especially were brilliant about your set up. I'm reconfiguring my room over the winter, I might pick your brains. I have 3 screens, but it's just not enough.

It's a shame to see the blog go, but it seems that if anybody puts their name to anything, some people just love to have a pop. It used to hurt a lot to see people put up some pretty wild comments about me, but I've just got used to it over time. More pity on them really.

The problem you face with these sorts of characters is that no matter how you respond they will simply move to another area. If you answer one criticism they simply move onto another ad infinitum, their objective is not debate. Like a rabid dog, they just wont let go till they have chewed your leg off.

While the blogging world is probably poorer I bet Andy's P&L doesn't get any poorer now you he has more time to improve your trading. Best of luck, not that you need it!

I've always taken the view that you should take inspiration from successful people not try to shoot them down in flames. Speaking of which, Money Programme BBC2 tonight 21:00 hours, Interview with Warren Buffett.

Shame the blog has ended Andy. As you know I enjoyed reading the blog and enjoyed your journey from small bank to full time trader.

Good Luck with your trading :)
