Could you guys please tell me what's your delay on the games winner market?
Bf sets different delays at times depending on various factors, regular account should have a 4 secs delay, woke up this morning to notice it is now set at 6 secs, for Roland Garros too not just CH or futures.
Games winner bet placing delay
Bet Angel doesn't set any delays, the delays are imposed by Betfair when your bet reaches the market
You can have the delay they are currently using for each market displayed for you on any of the trading screens, ie, in a custom column on your one-click screen or in Guardian

I probably wasn't very clear with my question but I meant Betfair's delay, nothing to do with BA.
The delay displayed you are talking about is the info coming from bf which, as I said, is meaningless considering they even went as far as lying to my face when confronted about having had a further delay in place on my account.
Every account can have a different delay even within the same account, different tournaments have different delays. Today I timed at 4 secs at a couple of random futures, all the rest was at 6 for the games market

Delay is the same for everyone. If Betfair deliberately or mistakenly apply a longer delay on one market vs another that delay will be the same for all.motorhead wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 10:46 pmI probably wasn't very clear with my question but I meant Betfair's delay, nothing to do with BA.

no it is not, a betfair.com account from Brazil for example will have a different delay then a UK-based account, if they think you are taking advantage in some way on a market they will put in place an extended delay on all the tennis markets for that account, or sometimes only for that specific tournament.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Wed May 31, 2023 1:07 pmDelay is the same for everyone. here is copy of their answer to my complain to them the past winter:
Dear ****
Thank you for your patience on the matter.
Following escalation with our trading department we can confirm that we have investigated your query and can affirm that the bet delay should be resolved.
I've also tested several acocunts, have friends run tests and delays can be different.

Why would Betfair care if you are taking advantage on a market?motorhead wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 11:07 am

I'm obviously talking about the sportsbook, do you really think bf was offering games market on the exchange for futures?jamesedwards wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 5:07 pmWhy would Betfair care if you are taking advantage on a market?motorhead wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 11:07 am

I'll have another go at it; Betfair is a website on the internet, a global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardized communication protocols.
This betfair website was created to have users exchange bets instead of the classic bookmakers that took the action against the punters, hence why it was also known as betfair exchange.
Growing up and expanding their business, as a company, at some point in their history they decided to also take action and act as a regular (online) bookmaker, meaning when you make a winning bet they would then pay you out of their pockets so to speak.
Now, because bookmakers usually don't like to lose money, they tend to get pissed when someone is regularly winning against them, which brings us back to your original question 'Why would Betfair care if you are taking advantage on a market?', to which the answer is: becaue they would then lose money.
Back to the tennis subject, this company called betfair, offers markets on all sorts of sports and games, from snooker to american football, you name.
Among the sports offered there is this game called tennis, invented in England back in the late 19th century.
To assign a winner a player has to win single points, games, sets and finally the match.
Betfair sportsbook offers options to bet on such markets, specifically the winner of a single point, the game winner, the set winner and of course also the winner of the match.
When placing a bet during a match that is in progress we call that a live bet, but this kind of bets, unlike the pre-match bets does come with a delay between the moment we make our selection and the time such bet is accepted.
Live bets delays do vary between sports, also the same sport can have different delay times depending on the specific market we want to bet on.
In the OP, which stands for Original Post, I was inquiring about other accounts' delays since I noticed my account has bee subject to changed in such delays during the course of my use of the website Betfair.
Oh one more thing: this is how the men's professional tennis circuits are structured:
at the top we have slams, they consist of the following tournaments: Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open.
Below these we have in decreasing order of points assigned for the win: the masters 1000 tournaments, then 500, 250, and then the so called challenger tournaments which assign less then 250 point to the winner. Below those we have futures tournament, they are names after the prize miney as well so for example a M15 means there is a 15,000$ prize money for the whole tournament.

I enjoyed the post.
I'd be surprised if Betfair had the functionality or motivation for individual account specific bet delays on Sportsbook. Wouldn't they just limit your account like everyone else? I don't know anyone on here who uses it, but perhaps someone else will know.
I guarantee you they do, I mean I even posted proof of it. Limit someone's account wouldn't be profitable if that account is only successful on specific markets.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 1:15 am
