I've sacrificed the men's final to have my first day of the year drinking in the sunshine and the sky's already covered in hazy cloud!

Don't assume money will buy your way out of the Tory health care crisis.

SEVEN weeks to get a private consultation, 60 miles away. And that's still faster than the estimate for the NHS. And we aren't talking about an ingrowing toenail, that's someone near 60 with bad chest pains. The ONLY way to get seen is to call an ambulance

I’m paying £1240 per year currently.

- Video call with consultant within 24 hours
- Face to Face consultation within 48 hours
- Any standard treatment required within 72 hours
- Any specialised treatment required within 7 days
- Overnight hospital stay pays £100 per night

I have used all the above in the last 4 months on different occasions and it did what it said in the T&Cs. So far.

I guess my premiums might go up next renewal but we shall see. I have a £100 excess per 12 months, not per claim.

Wow who's that with ? Tbh my Mrs has been trying to sort it out, and that's maybe not the best idea.

We've both quit smoking recently saving a shocking 300 quid a month (fiver a day each) so any premium almost whatever it is is a fantastic swap.

Wasted an afternoon drinking in hazy sunshine so I just popped in to see if there's anything worth trading and the flipping exchange is down.

Just received a call from my former energy supplier. I gave her 30 seconds of verbal abuse until she hung up, but they keep coming back for more.

I have 3 adult kids working in Nottingham town centre, which has been pretty much under full lockdown since they arrived this morning. Allegedly 200 police on the scene.
It's all pretty tense.

They are all worried, however I grew up in London during the IRA years so I think it fazes me less

I shouldn't really have made light-hearted comments over such as serious incident. It's amazing how easy it is to kill someone if you want to, but fortunately, few people are crazy enough to do that.

Concerning the IRA, can't remember what year it was but I missed the Victoria train station bomb by 2-3 hours. I walked through the station earlier to get a train home.

in 2001, i got a LUCKY upgrade to business class on a flight to New York (my then *not* wife travelled out ahead with 2 of the kids to meet up with old friends). Was the 1st time I'd been there. Was such a marvel to look out the plane window over the Hudson and see The Statue of Liberty and the Twin Towers. Was there for 4-5 days. And yup. you guessed it, the day after we arrived back home 9/11 happened and them towers were gone!

[edit] - forgot the important part. while on that trip, my then *not* wife and i got married in woodstock -lol

I've just looked up the Victoria bombing. I remember walking through the station a couple of hours before the blast, but the bomb exploded 7:40 am! I can't have been heading home from a shopping trip at 5:30.

Memory playing up, must be confusing it with another terrorist attack.

What's happened to the cycling proficiency test?

Have they scrapped it, or are kids now taught to use every flipping inch of the road, pavement, meadows and anywhere they flipping like?
