Automation Needed
I'm looking for some assistance with building a trading bot within guardian. Basically I am wanting to identify situations where a horse is backed from second or third favourite into favourite in the last 20 minutes of betting. Then I want to lay the horse that was favourite and back the horse that has moved into favourite. I'm new to navigating my way around Guardian so any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

You may want to look into doing the opposite to what your strategy suggests.LevDogs wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 8:11 amI'm looking for some assistance with building a trading bot within guardian. Why do you think the opposite would be better?gstar1975 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 10:28 amYou may want to look into doing the opposite to what your strategy suggests.LevDogs wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 8:11 amI'm looking for some assistance with building a trading bot within guardian. Referring back to your conversion about data, this is exactly the sort of thing you could backtest and remove the need for "luck". Anyway "luck" is a dirty word in trading and esp automatin, punters need luck, we need probability.

..... But one problem with strategies like this is accumulating a large enough set of results to prove anything, 2 or 300 results will probably take months. And even if an automated strategy is any good you'll be looking at a net RoI of about 2% and with so few bets a day, you'll need to be staking a substantial amount and need to withstand long periods of drawdown.
I'm sure someone will explain how to do it, but don't forget we're all trying to take each others money so don't assume they're helping you to win.... Good "luck"

It's an almost impossible word to wipe from the language. My default is 'good luck" too and I have to be really mindful of not using it. "may your our outcomes exceed the expected probability" just doesn't have the same ring to itbeermonsterman wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 12:10 pm
true im shit with words should of went to school really no luck required just hard work

... and also should take into account that markets aren't static and also can be influenced by your actions (maybe with a domino effect). In short - WELCOME TO HELL!!))ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2023 11:57 amReferring back to your conversion about data, this is exactly the sort of thing you could backtest and remove the need for "luck". On the signal tab set a signal on the selection (with any name and value of your choice)
Then on either your back or lay bet rule applied to the Fav armed during the 20mins before the start
add a 'Signal Set condition' to test the signal named (whatever you called it) for the selection
is set with a value
