For place markets you need to set the number of winners. Judging by the overrounds, you're looking at a 2-place market but you've got the number of winners set at 1, so BA thinks you'll only pay out on one winner.

Changing the number of winners to 2 (or any other number) doesn't change the predicted profit. That can't be right.

given that there are 2 runners that can place, would you not subtract the losing values for each of those from the predicted profit??

so, in the case of runners 1&2 placing, you'd subtract -5.91 + -6.56 = -12.47. therefore, total - liability = 9.81 - 12.47 = -2.66

just another thought and maybe completely wrong .

That sounds reasonable enough. Shouldn't BA do that calculation rather than showing a large predicted profit on every runner? Just thinking that a user may place these bets thinking that they're on a sure fire winner.

This has come up before when applying bookmarking /dutching to place markets.

It’s either a bug in BA or there are reasons why it can’t calculate the profit correctly when more than 1 winner markets.

I could be wrong but I think last time it was raised was because BA can’t know the payouts correctly from Betfair. But probably best to wait for Dallas or contact BA support for a complete answer.
