I don't think it helped when you told it not to read what you'd typed. :)

When the Tories sold everything they didn't impose any basic conditions such as retaining X amount of capital (like the banks now to have after the 09 crash). It meant that every penny of profit could be dished out in dividends. BA was the same, 10 straight great years, and then one losing year and they were in trouble.

I remember in 1986 being sent my poxy £400 worth of British Gas shares, I sent them back to Thatcher saying shove these up your arse, I already own it!.

None of these privatisation failures are a surprise to those of us who campaigned against it over 30yrs ago.

I got through over the phone. My bill was going up from £41 up to £100 after losing my in-contract discount. I asked to cancel the contract, she offered me another for £85, I said no thanks, then she put me through to the disconnection team and he offered me the same package for £55 with inflation protection.

Same routine every 18 months, conniving bastards!

I had similar with BT and they offered to reduce it loads, told them they could reduce it to a quid and I still wouldn't have it because you don't get my business by offering me a towel to wipe off your own piss take. I'm the same selling stuff, if I want £2000 and you offer me £500, I won't sell it to you for a million because you've tried to rip me off. One chance.

How do you connect to the internet?

I'd love to have been able to say that to him, but what are my other options? Sky and one other, that's probably low-speed broadband and a few TV channels plus the pain of switching and not trading for a day or two.

I was gonna buy 5 bags of Doritos for £1.65, but then I noticed they were 24g bags, so I took your advice and put them back.

Swindling scumbags everywhere you go.

Somebody had a book they didn't want, so they ripped out all the pages and scattered them on the pavement around my flat!

Possibly the most tragicomic headline of a BBC article.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-66057216

Aspartame has been implicated with cancer for at least a decade (that's my recollection).

I don't consume soft drinks, but if I do I look at the ingredients. In general they contain things you would/should not consume.

My understanding is that it isn't aspartame that is carcinogenic, it's the residual contents of the production process that end up in the final product and are never excreted.
Can something 1000 times sweeter than sugar be a good thing?

Food is the main cause of cancer. Nobody in a starvation camp has ever died of cancer. :)

It's just as well I don't use my VM email address but completely unacceptable for an internet provider that's been around for 20+ years, all the same. What if I needed to renew my BA subscription or got locked out of my porn account, after midnight!! ;)

FFS! I've been searching this site for hours for a UK-English version of Windows 10 ... until I realised the list is not in alphabetical order ... except the start and the finish! :x :x

I bet Kai would find his Croatian version though, sandwiched between Hebrew and Hungarian.
