Putin seems to be going into late period Stalin mode. Real paranoia about all the people around him, wouldnt be surprised to see a few more high ranking individuals 'disappear'. The only way I see it ending is if a few get together and decide to take him down themselves

Zelensky is trying to present things as the demise of Putin. Time wil tell. I reckon Putin's priority from day 1 was to extinguish any opposition. So he's really very good at it. Ukraine still strikes me as weird. It's schoolboy stuff - OK invade and take control of Ukraine easy peasy. I honestly thought that would happen too.
Some wise owls on here said that that wouldn't happen. Perhaps Putin should contact them (and forgive me I can't remember who they were but I'm thinking jimibt, TraderPat or Dublin_flyer).

Thats old news Derek, Ben already said he was out of the race on 21st June after learning France and USA were going to block his appointment.
