Hi everyone, just finished reading all 3k plus posts of Goats Journey. This is my first post and hopefully simple for someone to answer.
How do you back a Greyhound Fav in automation when the dogs stay in trap order and you have no idea which trap will start Fav. Hope that makes sense
Greyhound Fav
Apply the rule to the selection 'By Position (sorted in order of favouritism)' 1

Thanks Dallas, so as i understand it, if my bet triggers at say 10 secs before the off, at that exact time the prices will be looked at and if i selected sort by order of Fav, number 1, it will place a bet on the shortest price, what happens if two prices are identical at the precise time
Yes, that is correctWiseprice wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 2:15 pmThanks Dallas, so as i understand it, if my bet triggers at say 10 secs before the off, at that exact time the prices will be looked at and if i selected sort by order of Fav, number 1, it will place a bet on the shortest price, what happens if two prices are identical at the precise time
If two selections are exactly the same price it will trigger on the selection in the lowest Betfair row number (which is also the trap number)
It would be quite rare your rule triggers at the exact time there are two dogs with the same price, but if it was going to be a problem you could add a condition to ensure there is a clear (ie, there is at least 1 tick between the fav and 2nd fav)

One message to take from that thread is that information (aka fast answers) and money comes from scale. Don't limit yourself to the favourite as a manual trader might have to, every selection's price is moving all the time.Wiseprice wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 1:56 pmHi everyone, just finished reading all 3k plus posts of Goats Journey. Thanks Shaun, i have realised that as ive been mucking about with automation for a few months, just wasn't sure of that particular rule. Still not found anything concrete and getting on a bit now. To late to become a computer boffin like yourself and goat, but will keep trying. Just getting my head around signals and stored values
