Looks like the noose is starting to tighten around Putin’s neck. Bet he won’t be sending an Xmas card to Turkey this year.

Just been announced on the BBC that Turkey to back Sweden joining NATO.
That’s going to seriously annoy Putin even more.
It looks to me as though others are no longer worried about Putin and pushing him further and further down a hole.
The question will be, what will Putin do to gain the initiative.

yeah but my concern is we don't know who will replace him ... they may be 'worse'. And when the end is inevitable he may decide to leave his mark on the planet by pressing the button. We as a world have never had this problem before where one despot leader could destroy the planet and it won't get any better going forward ... as we develop weapons of even more mass destruction more despots will have the same power ... it will only take one. North Korea in 10 - 20 years time?!Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 8:46 pmLooks like the noose is starting to tighten around Putin’s neck. That’s why there was a strong argument for taking Putin out back in Feb 2022. It would have shown everyone not to mess about or else. And when I say take Putin out it also means the 100 or so close/next to him.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 9:02 pmyeah but my concern is we don't know who will replace him ... they may be 'worse'. I wonder what's changed, maybe the EU have opened the door for Turkey's membership. Turkey do business with Russia but not sure there as close as it's made out. They did shoot a Russian aircraft down a few years ago and had significant differences on Afgan & Libya.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 8:58 pmJust been announced on the BBC that Turkey to back Sweden joining NATO.

Anyway great news, hopefully a fantastic addition to NATO in the near future. Sends a clear message to Putin, all he has done by invading the Ukraine is isolate Russia and strengthen NATO the complete opposite of what his special military operation was set out to achieve.

O dear:
“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed support early Saturday for Ukraine joining NATO, saying the war-torn country deserves to join the alliance”

Has Erdogan been smoking or drinking something strong over the past few days ?

Maybe for now but will you still be able to do so when your prostrate is 10-20 years older and North Korea has continued to improver their rocket capabilities?Michael5482 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 9:14 pmI can piss further than North Korea's rockets travelfirlandsfarm wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 9:02 pmyeah but my concern is we don't know who will replace him ... they may be 'worse'. Continued expansion may mean NATO becomes WETO (Whole Earth Treaty Organisation) with Russia and China the only non-members.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 9:25 pmO dear:
