I'd have sympathy for him if his (alleged) behaviour was caused by mental health problems but it seems the other way around, his mental breakdown was caused p brought about by he alligatikons servicing.
Sorry, not up to date with license fee tussles. :)

I'm not interested in his mental health re this issue be it genuine or not. I still don't know what he has done that's so wrong? I can understand the Beeb being sensitive to such activities after Rolf H. and Jimmy S. but they both committed criminal acts. The media storm here brings back memories of the Cliff Richards helicopter scandal and that poor chap from Clifton, Bristol (Christopher Jefferies) who the media wrongly accused of murdering Jo Yeates simply because he had been (wrongly) arrested. He was subsequently released without charge and subsequently won an undisclosed sum in libel damages for defamatory news articles published following his arrest, and received an apology from Avon and Somerset Police for any distress caused to him during the investigation.

Seeing as Huw Edwards has seemingly done nothing wrong I hope he sues The Sun, the mother and possibly the BBC along with other members of the media as Christopher Jefferies did. The only person to win out of this is the so called 'victim' who is quids in!
Unless he denies the allegations his career as a presenter is over. Imagine watching the news on a story about sleaze presented by Huw Edwards. It undermines his and the Beeb's professionalism. I would be uncomfortable with him continuing unless the allegations are unproven, but that's now the BBC's job.
No pressure!

I remember now, I was really pissed and struggling to focus as I completed that last sentence.

Isn't asking for explicit photographs from a 17-year-old a criminal offence? If you read the news for the BBC, farting is doing something wrong. :)

Illegal or not (and I'm confused about the boundary for minority as a result of this, no criminal case to answer) it's really a very unpleasant scenario. It's essentially prostititution without soliciting (which is an offence I believe). He could have wandered down to Soho and achieved the same for a lot less. But then he would have stuck out like a sticky-out thing. Far better to navigate the backwaters of sleaze and hope/assume you wouldn't be outed. Clearly he wasn't paying enough for silence.

Well apparently not. But I have to confess I get confused by what you can do at 16 and what you have to wait until 18 to do! You can f*ck and get married at 16 (not necessarily linked! :)) but you can't have alcohol until 18 and between the two you can drive a dangerous weapon! I guess if you can do it you can also show it!

The next heatwave to sweep Europe is called Charon (ferryman of the dead). Tempting fate isn't it?

The excitement of breaking records is so great that even when people are suffering under near record-breaking temperatures I'm sort of willing the temperature on.

Just been up the supermarket to get some more beer. On the way back I saw a nice-looking blond bird up the road. As I got nearer, dark sunglasses on to hide my glare, I took a closer look and realised it's a bloke with long hair!

Even when you're smashed out of your brains you still learn new things!

Status Quo isn't the original band behind The Wanderer. It was Dion, unless that was a cover version as well!

Think it's time to make another donation. You only realise how much you need something when it's gone!

I blame Derek27 for this. Or thank. :-) My insomnia is being eased by flicking through That's 60's,That's 70's and That's 80's channels on Sky. So far captured Staying Alive, Blondie (my word Debbie Harry is my dream woman), Stand by me (Ben E. King). Little Green Bag. (George Baker Selection - what a bizarre name for a band!).
Why Is Derek27 responsible? He's posted regularly about working through the musical back catalogue and it finally seeped into my brain as a possibility.

I started again earlier this year from the week I was born and I've only got up to 1976. :)
