.. Reminds me of another DWP meeting.

Me : I've got a great CV, do you want me take a job next week as a road sweeper and pay very little tax and screw my cv in the process. Or do you want me to pay a shed load of tax, but that sort of job might take 3 or 4 months to find and get accepted.

Them : You've got to do any job.

Oh the irony of me being from an asset management background.

Claiments have been sanctioned for being in a coma, being at their child"s intensive care bedside, and being at a sibling's funeral instead of signing on.

I almost got a sanction because I'd applied to 2 employment agencies, when I was supposed to apply for 3 actual jobs. As an alternative punishment they forced me to go on a 2 day cv writing course when my prev job involved reading other people's to hire them! .... 15miles away and of course the bus fare was my bill.

A rule break in your 2 week sign-on period results in a SIX weeks of ZERO money. Even prisoners get fed housed and heating. The 'soft touch' DWP won't even feed children.

I used to be placed on 4-week job-seeking courses. I'd get out of it by being ill on the first day, knowing that once you've missed the health & safety induction you can't start until the next course in 4 weeks' time. Then I'd come up with a more bizarre/elaborate excuse. It was times like those when I wished I was a woman. I'd just say I'm having a bad period.

As I've already said, I'm not a supporter of immigrants, illegal or not. Whether or not a migrant is illegally here is a matter for the judicial system but Tory ministers have admitted to breaking the law, it's a world of difference.

I used to operate a Burroughs B1900. Switching the machine off while it was running would have been catastrophic, but there was a very simple safety device to prevent that from happening. A plastic cover over the on/off button that you'd have to lift before pressing the button.

Perhaps the suspend monkeys should be equipt with such devices.

I'm not raking over old coals or starting anything again It's a hypothetical question when the solution is just to know who's who in the group but,

I'd asked chatGPT for a book recommendation earlier, and it did. It made me wonder about why that one and biases etc. So I gave it a question where I forced it into a yes/no 'opinion' rather than a fact, and not one that gets the usual 'Well it depends...'

Quiet interesting I think. If there's going to be a bonfire of the application backlog and start again, then President AI looks like it's made it's mind up about what we do with people.
