Hello
I have set up the automated scalping bot as per the instructions https://www.betfairtradingblog.com/betf ... -scalping/
I have 2 questions:
1 Where I am setting the fixed odds condition the instructions say this "Because the bet is being placed at 2.0 we don’t just want it sitting in the market for the sake of it so we’ll use a ‘Fixed Odds Condition’ to test the back price is equal to 2.02." Which implies I should enter the value of 2.02, yet the screenshot in the instructions shows 2.
Should I enter 2 or 2.02?
2 I ran with 2 and copied the rules for odds of 3, 4 etc.
The first lay was placed, yet not corresponding back bet? I have followed the instructions step by step, and can't see what I have done wrong except for maybe the issue in 1 above?
Please can someone advise me?
Thanks

There is a ready-made file for that example here, probably best to download that, but then double check where yours isn't correct just so you know for future reference

Thanks, I can see some of the settings are quite different eg it appears to want to keep the unmatched back bets in play?
I have test run it and have one back and lay bet matched, but another lay unmatched with me potentially facing a large loss..is it meant to do that?
Thanks for your help.

It stops placing bets 15secs before the official start time, and greens up with 8 seconds to go (this ule is only armed for 7 seconds),kenfrost wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 1:17 pmThanks, I can see some of the settings are quite different eg it appears to want to keep the unmatched back bets in play?

It sounds like the green up rule hasn't triggered which is probably due to your refresh rate being to slow for the number of markets you have in Guardian (perhaps still on the default 1 second)
You could increase that arm time to something like 30secs after the event start time - which give you a much wider window to have the market refreshed in
There are also some settings you can edit in Guardian to ensure your rules trigger optimally and these are explained in full detail in this post

Thanks, I have tested it several times now up to and during a races, it's working fine
Two final questions:
1 In your opinion is this best for horses, ie should I avoid using it on greyhounds?
2 Is the £10 stake the most optimal?
Thanks for your help/advice

It would probably suit horse racing markets better due to the increased volatility on greyhound races, but if you were to use on Greyhound races it might be wiser to increase the offset ticks to take advantage of the extra volatility.
I set 99% of the example files uploaded with a £10 stake, there's no particular reason for using that value other than its a nice round number
Thanks, yes I think the hounds are too volatile.
I will run with £10 for the time being then later see how 15 works etc.
Thanks very much for your time and help.
I will keep my eyes open for other bots such as this that can be used in the background.

There's over 250 examples of automation bots in the shared files section grouped by sport all of which run in the background
