Its been nearly a year since I purchased my first house and took out a mortgage, since then my profits have been down massively in comparison to the year before. My debts have been going up.

I'm struggling to make an average wage from trading now and also struggling to pay my way.

I've decided I'm going to go work off shore on the rigs, I have loads of friends working off shore and one who reckons he could help me get on so I'm going to go for it.

I know it's not as safe as working from home :) but I can't stand the lack of money anymore. I'll most likely be working 2 weeks on 3 weeks off so I might still trade on my time off. I think without the worry of money my trading would pick up dramatically, I could be wrong of course.

Well Good luck, i think there are alot of people in your position right now and regardless of the pressure to make money, it's also def a lot harder to make a living than it was a year or so ago and i don't think it will get any easier either.

hey good luck Rhys.
I think there is a difference when you know that you "have" to make a profit to cover your bills rather than any profit is extra on top of your monthly wages is a bonus. You may find it changes your mindset when you do trade..and we all know that is a big part of being successful.

Anyway good luck

Hey,I can't trade at all, pressure or not ;)

I think its gotten much harder. I've really noticed In-Play. People are making far fewer mistakes , there is much less over-reaction. Jolly Green pointed this out too. Like yesterday, 'Goldikova' was coming with what looked like a winning run in France, a year ago the In-Play price would have dropped to 1.5 or less, yet yesterday, it never went below 2.0.

Good Luck Rhys

I think you've made the right call. Sounds like you will still be able to get some solid trading hours in as-well which is great and it should help you strike a good balance which is very important.

Hi Rhys

Good luck on the rigs, im sure its not a bad way of life anyhow 3 on 2 off. Considered jobs like this myself, hopefully your profits pick up again and you find yourself in a good position.

All the best

Hi Rhys

Good luck with the change and it sounds like the correct move for you for reasons others have already stated.

Good luck with it. I know a few lads on the rigs out in asia and they get lots ofe time off although its long hours when they are working. You will probably trade better on your weeks off now not having the financial burden hanging around your neck of having to earn to pay the bills and mortgage which Im sure doesnt help your trading.
