Fairly formidable ally though.

Keep a close eye on it, the traders among us may not find the bookmakers on their side and negotiate for the limits intended to police 'regular bettors' to be raised but still trap traders who are of no interest to bookies!

Not very often I agree with a Tory MP but here' an interview in The Pacing Post with Philip Davies MP.

On the Gambling Commission:
"They must be the most out-of-touch regulator there is in the country, and that’s a strong field" I think this is one and only thing gamblers and anti-gamblers agree on the GC are a waste of space.
The Racing Post seem to be stepping up their fight against the white paper lately which is good to see. BHA is still asleep hoping to wake up with a new deal on the betting levy

Here is the link to reply to the Gambling Commissions Consultation. It's the GC who have proposed net winnings over 7 days are no to be considered on losses.
How to respond to the Gambling Commission consultation: Views can be provided at this page. After completing the introductory questions, select 'Remote gambling: financial vulnerability and financial risk' from the 'Consultations contents page'. You may choose to answer as many or as few questions as you wish. Further Racing Post guidance on responding to the consultation can be found here

The more that fill it out the better.

It took me most of the morning to fill out the submission. There seems to be a hidden agenda to ping everyone with a check at some point.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 8:51 amHere is the link to reply to the Gambling Commissions Consultation. Yep over 6 million people will be subject to the 1st level checks from day one more or less which is scary. Maybe be reading to much into it but the agenda maybe data. Harnessing data from employment status, salary, financial records, post codes is gold dust for them.WisdomOfCrowds wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 12:34 pmIt took me most of the morning to fill out the submission. If you want to operate outside the restrictions of the law then you do so without the protection of it. The Ombudsman won't help these losers when someone buggers off with their moneyilovepizza82 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 11:37 amlol ppl already are thinking about dark web and black markets

Clueless comment: -
Some have sought to argue that certain types of gambling, such as betting on certain sports, are ‘less risky’ and therefore must have a problem gambling rate lower than the national picture. This is also not true and is misleading.
So pumping money into an online slot every few seconds is the same as betting into an overbroke book at SP? Yeh, right.
According to these official statistics, the lottery has more participants than any other form of gambling, but isn't included in the proposals as it isn't considered harmful. But the same commission didn't allow a £10 scratch over those same concerns. But people can still buy two £5 scratch cards instead?
