People get obsessed about PC specs but IMHO monitors are equally as important (after all you're gonna spend thousands of hours staring at them).

For the last few years I have had just a single screen - a 30" NEC 3090WQXi (2560x1600) which is fab. http://www.trustedreviews.com/monitors/ ... Monitor/p1.

Today I took delivery of a smaller 2nd monitor so that I can keep an eye on other (financial) markets while trading a particular instrument on the main screen.

It's an Eizo S2243W which is a 22" monitor but with the resolution of most 24" monitors (1920x1200) and it is just beautiful to look at. http://www.eizo.co.uk/products/product_ ... 2243w.html

Eizo monitors are high end kit aimed primarily at graphic designers but also models like this aimed at traders. For 400 quid it's a snip!

You get what you pay for!

The Eizo S2243W I got yesterday is fab - pin sharp, easy on the eye, great colours, nice build quality (weighs 9.6kg!), good solid stand (can rotate to portrait). 'can't fault it. It will probably last a lot longer than a cheap one too.

I've had cheap monitors in the past, and they can cause eye-strain. If you've got the money, it's far better to invest in something which isn't going to potentially damage your optics!

This one I bought has an eye care mode! http://www.eizo.com/global/products/vid ... index.html

Generally it just feels much nicer to look at and read from - a bit like those ebook readers that are designed with a matt finish - only in colour.
