What did you do to accumulate these points?Emmson wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 9:53 pmI just noticed tonight I had 80,000+ Microsoft Reward Points, must have been accruing for over a decade. I decided to see if they were worth anything and to my surprise I have just redeemed them for a £54 Amazon Gift Card.
That is just like walking down the street and finding a £50 note lying on the pavement with no one around.![]()
I've just noticed I've got just over 1000 points but don't know how I've got them?
Dude. Explore your culinary expertise. A better option is a home-made burger and Sainsbury (other supermarkets are available but probaby use the same supplier) fries. Just don't get sloshed and leave the fat on high.

But, seriously, Mac is easy and a good consistent standard. But you can do better yourself, although maybe not so conveniently. Certainly that is the case here. Deliveroo and Just Eat don't exist. My nearest Mac is 3 miles.
Used Bingle search engine occasionally for 10+ years without realising it would buy me a breadmaker.Derek27 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 10:29 pmWhat did you do to accumulate these points?Emmson wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 9:53 pmI just noticed tonight I had 80,000+ Microsoft Reward Points, must have been accruing for over a decade. When I first moved into my present flat, I was just a 40-second walk from McDonalds. But the locals must have got sick of people walking down their drive to get there and had the hedge with a gap in it replaced with a fence, so now it's a 2–3-minute walk.greenmark wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 6:14 pmDude. I only go there when they got offers on though. I wouldn't dream of paying £7 for a McDonald's meal.

It's 18 miles to my nearest franchised fast food

I know you like driving but an 18-mile drive for a Big Mac would be a bit much.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 8:02 pmIt's 18 miles to my nearest franchised fast foodIt's probably for the best but it doesn't feel that way.

Hope you've got a good kebab shop nearby.
One of my guilty secrets (no longer) was to go to my local Mac drive through after a a post work game of squash or footy at 9ish and get a couple of burgers and fries, just for me. I could get away with that those days, I was clean living and fit the rest of the time. Oh, those halcyon days of being able to scamper round a sports court! And I never put on an ounce of weight.Derek27 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 8:07 pmI know you like driving but an 18-mile drive for a Big Mac would be a bit much.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2023 8:02 pmIt's 18 miles to my nearest franchised fast foodIt's probably for the best but it doesn't feel that way.

EDIT: Got me thinking so discovered now my local (?) McD will deliver within 40 minutes for £3.50 on a minimum £12 order. Hence my view that DIY is definitely the way to go. My late bro-in-law did a stonker of a burger. It's really very simple. That's why Mcd et al do it. Easy, quick, repeatable, process driven. It's boring but is the foundation of quality. Best thing with DIY is cost and you are in control of the quality of ingredients and the process. A burger and fries is a great occaisonal treat
