Side question for you cricket guys. I was looking to buy some Lignum Vitae timber as saw this ..
"One of the more popular uses for this wood is to form cricket bats to be used in windy locations"
Really? I did a google and all I saw was willow. They must weigh a ton, it's so dense it sinks in water.

The mallets you break cricket bats in with can be Lignum VitaeShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 2:51 amSide question for you cricket guys. I was looking to buy some Lignum Vitae timber as saw this ..

Makes sense. Strange comment about windy locations though, maybe a chatbot wrote it.
just fyi I saw it here https://www.hitchcockandking.co.uk/h-k- ... the-world/ They've even used a photo of someone swinging what looks to me like a very willowy looking bat.
My first manager had worked for a timber importer and he told me lignum is so hard and self-lubricating it has been used for bearings.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 4:17 pmMakes sense. Strange comment about windy locations though, maybe a chatbot wrote it.

Nature gave us an amazing parts warehouse. And were would the poetry be in hearing the sound of plasic on aluminium on the village green
I suspect that's a typo and it's meant to say bails, not bats.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2023 4:17 pm
