Was that across UK, IRE and AUS markets?
259 markets, 755 runners, aus & GB, horses & dogs. 4% RoI, which is way above anything approaching normal. Half the turnover was at York where it went a bit death or glory on the stakes.

Days like that are borrowed money, or owed.

It ain't over till it's over!
I forecast a much sunnier outlook around Derek's house. ;)
I think the grey weather's been getting to you, I got chatGPT to write you a limerick about it...

There once was a man named Derek,
Whose moods were a weather-based metric.
When the skies turned to grey,
He'd grumble all day,
But sunshine made him quite energetic!

(prompt: write me a limeric about a man called Derek who's always in a bad mood when it's bad weather and happier when it's sunny)

Strange association between energetic and happiness but it did ok ;)

I had to make a telecommunication to a Microsoft call centre in India to get my copy of Windows 11 Pro activated. I couldn't believe how polite and helpful the guy was. A ten-minute chat about the weather over here and over there and Windows was activated. :D

It felt so surreal talking to somebody in a call centre over the phone and not feel the need to get abusive.

Before I retired I spent a week in Mumbai at a number of the, out of town, data and call centres. Amazing places, the buildings are just huge, and the tech was all cutting edge. Very friendly, helpful people as well.

The roads and traffic were a completely different story though !

I stayed with an uncle in Bombay (now Mumbai) when I was eleven. Absolute shit hole then. There wasn't a toilet to sit on, just a hole in the ground that you'd crouch over.

Goa was lovely, but I didn't appreciate it as much as I would now. I was eating cornflakes and toast because I didn't like curry back then. I'll never forget the time when I asked for cheese, my older cousin gave me some cheese and biscuits and I refused to eat it because the cheese was white; I only knew yellow cheese.

I find it fascinating that some of us revel in 25C+ temps. My heart sinks when I see over 20C. How I wish I was a 25c+, cos thats the way it's going.
C'est la vie.

Forgot to celebrate the leader of the Proudboys getting 22yrs. Quite right too, anyone organising a pride march and not inviting Steps to do a PA needs their rainbow badge taking away.

Hopefully it's just a precursor before Mr Big's trial. :D
